In order to implement the State Program on Countering Religious Extremism and Terrorism in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2018-2022 and the Comprehensive Plan for the Implementation of State Policy in the Religious Sphere of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021-2023, the Department for Religious Affairs of the region (hereinafter UDR) pays great importance to improving the effectiveness of work on identifying, dissuading and socializing supporters of destructive religious movements (hereinafter DRT).
This work is carried out on a comprehensive basis together with the KSU "Center for Analysis and Development of Interfaith Relations" of the UDR (hereinafter referred to as KSU TSARMO), other interested state bodies, involving religious associations and non-governmental organizations.
In general, the above activities are organized within the framework of the state social orders of the UDR and the regional departments of internal policy, the services of the TSARMO KSU, the work of the involved theologians and imams.
For example, in order to provide theological assistance to persons who have fallen under the influence of destructive religious ideas, theologian experts R.Saduev, D.Baizhigitov, S.Kamalash, A.Sardenov, T.Kozhakhmetova and others.
Rehabilitation and preventive measures with DRT adherents are carried out both with convicted persons and with free citizens, as well as their environment (relatives, friends, colleagues, etc.).
The general monitoring of the religious situation indicates a decrease in the number of people who adhere to the ideology of the DRT in the region.
