“Taza Kazakhstan”: Environmental Agenda and Social Responsibility
In the 2025 Address, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan must develop not only technologically, but also environmentally. The “Taza Kazakhstan” program is becoming a national priority.
The President proposed introducing a unified standard of environmental education to instill a culture of respect for nature from an early age. Special attention will be given to the sustainable use of water resources — a unified digital water management platform will be created for this purpose.
The President noted: “Cleanliness must begin with every person, every home, every street, and every city. The ‘Taza Kazakhstan’ campaign should not be a one-time effort, it must become our way of life.”
An equally important focus will be the development of energy. Kazakhstan has begun planning the construction of its second and third nuclear power plants, which will provide the country with stable and clean energy.
He added: “A year ago, we jointly launched the ‘Taza Kazakhstan’ project. I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has been actively participating since day one… Today, in every corner of our country, you are working diligently for the benefit of society. This is an example for others.”
The adoption of the new Construction Code will take environmental requirements into account, while transport development programs — including multimodal routes and container shipping — are expected to reduce the carbon footprint and make logistics more eco-friendly.
“Taza Kazakhstan” is not only about ecology, but also about a new societal model where cleanliness and order become the norm. The President called for a principle of zero tolerance toward any violations, stressing that cleanliness should be upheld not only in courtyards but also in public life.
Thus, “Taza Kazakhstan” is a strategic course aimed at building a country where environmental responsibility, rule of law, and social justice go hand in hand with economic development.
