For 2021-2022 academic year in Altai region, the contingent of pupils amounted to 7845 pupils.
As of December 2, 2021, there are 560 children with disabilities registered with the PMPC, of which 25 are preschool children.
Homeschooling was organized for 34 pupils enrolled in general educational institutions of the district, of which 22 pupils have disabilities.
In Altai region, children with special educational needs SEN (special educational needs) are taught in 30 schools. In 2021-2022 academic year, 12 correctional classes (CCE) were opened in 3 schools of the district, covering 101 pupils.
To date, 281 teachers have completed inclusion courses. By the end of 2021, another 65 teachers will take courses in inclusion. In addition, teachers take paid courses on inclusion.
In 2019, in secondary school №9, secondary school №11 of the city of Altai, repairs were made to adapt barrier-free conditions for teaching children with SEN in the amount of 13600.0 thousand tenge from the regional budget.
Since September 2020, in 7 schools of Altai district, secondary school №8, secondary school №11, primary school №1, primary school №2, secondary school №1 named after V.M. Inyushin, Serebryansk, Novo-Bukhtarma №2, Oktyabrskaya secondary school, Zubovskaya secondary school, there are offices to support inclusion. The budget was 13000.0 thousand tenge.
From November 8, 2021, in the CSI "Secondary school № 6 of the city of Altai" of the education department in Altai district of the Department of Education the East Kazakhstan region, an office for supporting inclusion has been opened at the expense of per capita financing in the amount of 2300.0 thousand tenge.
