Public danger of corruption (23.12.2020)
Those in power pursue what they say in public policy for personal gain, thereby exerting a wide range of influence over the government that is several times greater than the government's role in the public interest. Important decisions that have the greatest impact on the life of society are made on the basis of corruption or concealment of corrupt officials, as they depend on various "shadow figures". Direct expenditures from corruption reduce state budget revenues and indirectly reduce GDP. Corruption expands the shadow economy and has a negative impact on competition, as "bribery" creates non-competitive opportunities. This disrupts market relations, reduces the efficiency of the economy as a whole, but creates economic relations that create new corrupt monopolies, often linked to organized crime.
