A lot of Kazakhstanis earn a living without official employment.
Someone sells vegetables from their garden at the market, someone is engaged in private transportation or gives private lessons in mathematics.
Such people are called "freelancers", and from the point of view of the state – "self-employed".
Their income is not taxed - for the social system of the state, these people are "invisible". So, in case of anything, they will not be able to count on social benefits.
To solve this issue in 2019, Kazakhstan introduced a single aggregate payment (ESP) for the category of "self-employed".
By paying the ESP monthly in the amount of 1 MCI for urban residents and 0.5 MCI for villagers, you cover income tax, mandatory pension contributions, medical and social insurance contributions.
After that, you can:
* apply for a basic pension
* use medical services through OSMS
* receive various types of social benefits.
At the same time, you cannot officially be an individual entrepreneur and hire employees. And your annual income should not exceed 1,175 MCI.
You can pay for the ESP at the cash desks of banks, Kazpost offices and through a mobile application Kaspi.kz .
