In total, over 1,535 industrial enterprises operate in the region, including 33 large, 65 medium-sized and rest 1,437 small ones. These enterprises employ more than 80 thousand people, including about 60 thousand people in the manufacturing industry.

The volume of industry in January - August 2021 amounted to 946.5 billion tenge, which is 200.2 billion tenge more than 2020 (746.3 billion tenge), IFO - 113.8% (in the Republic of Kazakhstan IFO - 102, 4%). The plan for 2021 is 1 248.3 billion tenge, IFO - 102.5%.

In manufacturing industry, products were produced for л billion tenge, which is 174.1 billion tenge more than 2020 (655.2 billion tenge), IFO - 114.8% (in the Republic of Kazakhstan IFO - 105.8%). The plan for 2021 is 1092.9 billion tenge, the IFO is 102.8%.

Share of the manufacturing industry in the total volume at the end of July is 87.6% - the highest indicator in the republic (at the end of 2020, the share is 88%).

In terms of industries, growth is observed in the following industries: food - by 13.5%, beverages - by 11.8%, light industry - by 8.5%, production of other non-metallic mineral products - by 42%, metallurgical - by 25 , 2%, production of finished metal products, except for machinery and equipment - 5 times, mechanical engineering - 56.7%.

Production of tobacco products is reduced - by 3.9%.

The growth in volumes was ensured by increasing:

- an increase in the "Mareven Food Tien Shan" production of food products (in 2020 - 10.6, in 2021 - 17.5 thousand tons or 165.1%),

- an increase in the volumes of Lukoil Lubricants Central Asia LLP (in 2020 - 11.6 thousand liters, in 2021 - 18.6 thousand liters, or 160.3%),

- an increase in the volumes of LLP "Alaсem" (for 2020 - 114.2 thousand tons, for 8 months of this year - 738.4 thousand tons or 6.5 times an increase),

In January-August, backbone enterprises produced goods worth 474.6 billion tenge with an increase of 84.1 billion tenge or 21.6%.

In terms of districts, a decrease was allowed in 6 districts: Alakol (87.4%), Aksu (82.8%), Kegen (90.3%), Karatal (95.9%), Sarkan (92.8), Tekeli city (75.6%). For January - August this year 16 new and expanded production at 13 operating industrial enterprises, created 691 places.

In 2021, it is planned to commission 49 new industrial facilities, expand 25 existing production facilities, due to which 2,427 working places will be created.

Labor productivity in the manufacturing industry at the end of 2020 amounted to 14.7 million tenge or 95.7% compared to the period of 2019 (preliminary data for the 4th quarter, final data will be released in August after recalculating the revised volume of industry).

Since the beginning of this year 15 applications were received from the regional enterprises for costs reimbursement, Kagazy Recycling LLP received costs reimbursement.

Export potential development

In Almaty region, export deliveries are carried out by more than 30 commodity producers. The main export trade partners are Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, China.

Industrial enterprises of the region actively participate in various international exhibitions in the republic, countries of far and near abroad.

 In January - December 2020, the volume of manufacturing industry export amounted to USD 370.2 million (95.4% by 2019). The plan for 2020 is US $ 331.9 million, for 2021 - US $ 391.7 million.

Since the beginning of the year, 8 enterprises have received costs reimbursement in the amount of 439.7 million tenge (Intelservice LLP, Hamle Company, Unilux, Kainar AKB, Metakon, Kelun Kazpharm, etc.).

Simple things economy

As of September 27, 2021, 267 projects are being developed for a total amount of 87.5 billion tenge, among them:

on 199 projects for 58.4 billion tenge, approval of STB and ACC was received;

16 projects for 21.3 billion tenge are under consideration in second-tier banks. 

The remaining 52 projects are under development.

For January - August of this year the report on local content share was sent to the Secretariat of the project office " Atameken NCE" on August 30 this year for revision.

According to our data for 8 months of this year by VHI industries it was: - light industry: plan - 74.8%, actual - 63.6%; - furniture industry: plan - 84.3%, actual - 61.2%; - food industry: plan - not established, fact - 62.7%; - building materials: plan - 100%, fact - 91%; - mechanical engineering: plan - 24.2%, actual - 31.3%; - chemical industry: plan - 36.2%, actual - 45.5%; - pulp and paper: plan - 53.7%, actual - 59.9%; - pharmaceutical: plan - 32.3%, actual - 24.2%.

Since the beginning of the year, 18 meetings of the working commission for the control of local content have been held.

Regional Entrepreneurship Support Card (SPIID 3)

Within the framework of the state program of industrial and innovative development for 2020-2025 (3rd five-year plan), 20 high-tech and innovative projects worth 128.7 billion tenge were implemented in 2020 with the creation of 2,818 jobs (list of projects in Appendix 1).

This year, within the framework of the Regional Entrepreneurship Support Card, it is planned to implement 9 projects (construction of a plant for the production of soft drinks "Pure Pack" LLP (Raimbek Agro), Construction of a plant for the production of ice cream "Shin Line" LLP, construction of an additional line for the production of confectionery "Yakar" LLP, construction of a plant for the assembly of imported gas stoves "TURMYSTYK TEKHNIKA ZAVOD" LLP (BOSHER HOLDING), etc.) in the amount of 78.2 billion tenge, with the creation of more than 963 working places.

Under innovative activity

At the result of 2019, the level of innovation activity in the region amounted to 9.3%, having increased by 1% since 2018 (for 2018 - 8.3%).

In 2019, the volume of innovative products produced amounted to 20.4 billion tenge, or 110.9% by 2018 (2018 - 18.4 billion tenge). In 2019, the share of innovative products in the region's GRP was 0.63% (in 2018 - 0.66%).

The plan for 2020 is 50.1 billion tenge (1.5% of the GRP). At the end of 2020, the volume of innovative products amounted to 59 billion tenge (1.77% of the GRP).

For reference: together with the regional Department of Statistics, akimats of districts and cities, explanatory work is carried out among enterprises on the timely and high-quality provision of statistics. Report on innovations - seminars were held in December, and throughout the year work with enterprises in the form of individual consultations and explanations will be continued.
