Elections are the guarantee of the country's freedom

Every year, on the first Thursday of February, World Election Day is celebrated in all countries, which was established in 2005 in Budapest (Hungary) as a professional holiday of electoral bodies. The tradition of celebrating World Election Day was initiated by the Association of Election Organizers of European Countries, of which the Republic of Kazakhstan is a full member.On the initiative of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on February 3, 2022, Open Days will be held in the precinct and territorial election commissions of the Karasai district, meetings of members of election commissions with students of educational institutions on the topic "the constitutional right to be elected and participate in elections" are planned. One of the tasks assigned to the organizers is to reveal the role of elections in the formation of basic democratic principles in the minds of citizens of the country and to understand their rights and opportunities in government within the framework of the implementation of constitutionally enshrined democratic freedoms by young voters with their direct participation or through their freely elected representatives.

In general, the election commission of professional activity began functioning in Karasai district on January 9, 2019. Thus, by the decision of the district maslikhat, one chairman and one secretary were appointed to the Karasai district election Commission as the main and permanent job. In addition, a total of 101 district polling stations have been formed, consisting of 817 people. Since they carry out the commission as a supplement to the foundation, their work is activated only during the elections.

For the first time in the history of our country, villagers are given the opportunity to directly elect rural akims. Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his Message "Kazakhstan in new conditions: the period of action " indicated the need for direct elections of rural akims. The same initiative is being implemented today. These elections are a very important step from the democratic point of view of the country. Because there are three important directions here. Firstly, akims are approaching the people with their own program. Defending the interests of the people, studying all the problems, the problems of the country, respectively creating and offering their programs. The local community also expects good initiative and high results from the elected village akims. Secondly, we realized the importance of the people's voice and elections. The third is, of course, the work of observers. Our civilly active observers not only participate in this process, but also improve their professional skills, develop themselves from the point of view of legislation. So, last year, direct elections of akims were held in the Yeltai rural district for the first time. This is not a one-time campaign. This year, after the expiration of the term of office of akims, elections will be held in other localities. Practically in one region or another, the villagers elect their akim by direct vote. This year, akims of Kaskelensky, Raiymbek, Shamalgan, Zhambyl, Pervomaisky rural districts are elected by the population due to the expiration of their terms of office.Thus, we hope that the mayors elected by the electoral system will invest their efforts in the condition of the village, give priority to the interests of the place of residence, "pull the kidneys", solve the pressing problems of the village, rehabilitate its condition.Thus, a large-scale political reform, in which democratic transformations are taking place, which will become another landmark event in the history of the country's development, I have received the full support of the population, and this obviously creates a breakthrough in public life. "Where there is unity, there is unity " - the hope of our people for the future. I think we should show unity, strengthening stability and peace in the country when the whole world is in sight.In this regard, the World Election Day, which I am talking about, is aimed at attracting people's attention to the issue of ensuring citizens' electoral rights and improving electoral processes. This day reminds of the general right of citizens to participate in elections and is aimed at strengthening the process of world democracy, expanding knowledge about elections and promoting voter participation in voting. Thus, it is a symbol of the universal right of citizens to participate in elections and the most important form of the development of the rights and freedoms of democratic citizens.
