From this year, the Akimat of Almaty will pay for the lessons of children in sports clubs. For these purposes, 1.5 billion tenge has been allocated, in total it is planned to cover about 40 thousand children. Moreover, it will be possible to choose the kind of sport at the request of the child.

This became possible thanks to the introduction of per capita regulatory financing of the state sports order in order to provide sports sections within walking distance.
Children from 4 to 18 years old will be able to attend free sections, and it will be possible to choose from 71 kinds of sports. At present, vouchers for free classes have already been issued to 24 thousand applicants, 18 630 children have started classes in 26 sports. The most popular were football, taekwondo, karate, swimming and judo sections.

Moreover, to date, the state has paid for classes in sections for a total of 141 million tenge. In terms of regions, Almaty ranks first in terms of allocated funds and first in terms of those actually employed.

There are about 3400 sports facilities in the city, including 12 stadiums, the Sports Palace, 14 sports complexes and 12 sports facilities. There are 2,671 flat structures, 102 tennis courts, a hippodrome, 10 sports arenas, 51 swimming pools, 483 sports halls, 12 built-in gyms.

The area of ​​indoor sports facilities in Almaty is 81,503 sq. m. To increase them, this year, at the expense of the local budget, 6 sports and recreation centers and a tennis center with a total area of ​​38 thousand square meters, are being built on the outskirts of the city. The total capacity will be 5250 people per day, the number of sports sections - 150.

Currently, at the expense of extra-budgetary funds, the construction of five new sports facilities is underway, including a sports complex, a table tennis center, and a wrestling complex. In addition, the construction of a tennis center has been completed. More than 70 sports sections, in 15 sports, will be open.
