31 thousand jobs have been created in Almaty this year
At an online press conference of the Regional Communications Service, Deputy Akim of Almaty Ilyas Userov announced measures to support SMEs and provide employment for citizens.
According to I. Userov, as of June 1 of this year, 31,000 jobs have been created in Almaty. At the same time, the average monthly salary in the city is higher than the republican level by 16.3% and is growing annually.
This year, the instruments of concessional lending to SMEs were expanded, which had a positive effect on the employment of citizens. The opportunity was provided to refinance loans on concessional terms, as well as to defer loans. Tax incentives have been adopted for the affected industries.
Thanks to support programs, the number of operating entities in the field of small and medium-sized businesses increased by almost 1%.
In 2020, more than 74 thousand entrepreneurs received tax breaks. 3 thousand lenders from affected industries received loan deferrals, more than 300 entrepreneurs were exempted from paying rent payments at communal property. More than 1,000 projects of entrepreneurs have been financed at a cheaper rate.
“In order for entrepreneurs to work effectively, we create conditions for the formation of mutually beneficial and long-term economic relationships between market participants,” said I. Userov.
Thus, the banks of Almaty issued loans for more than 3 trillion tenge. Of these, about 643.9 billion tenge were loans for small businesses. In general, lending to small businesses has grown 2.6 times since the beginning of the year.
“To create highly profitable jobs, we have embarked on a structural maneuver in the economy. This structural maneuver is reflected in the Almaty-2050 Strategy, which provides for the development of priority sectors. The priority sectors of development are tourism, digitalization, and creative economy, ”noted I. Userov.
