The governor of Almaty met with delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan

During the meeting Igor Saveliev told that Almaty and Tatarstan had a great potential for partnership in the sphere of high technologies.

"This is the first time in Almaty and I am pleasantly impressed, the city feels a lot of energy, the spirit of entrepreneurship. We are interested in a local approach to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, support for start-ups, the realization of Smart City projects, and the arrangement of public spaces, "he said.

During the trip, the delegation of Tatarstan presented the opportunities of the industrial zone in the Alatau region and the FEZ Park of Innovative Technologies. In his turn, the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan spoke about the experience of the innovation center Innopolis, a city located 40 km from Kazan, involving high-tech industries such as microelectronics, nanotechnology, robotics, alternative energy, biotechnology. It also operates the same name Special Economic Zone.

The governor of Almaty invited the innovators of Tatarstan to take part in the forum "Almaty Innovations - 2017", which would be held on June 30.

The forum will become a platform for discussion of best practices on the introduction of urban innovation.

As a result of the meeting, specific areas of partnership, responsible persons have been identified and an agreement has been reached to send profile delegations to study the experience and technologies.
