In Almaty, 16 out of 25 libraries of the Centralized Library System operate in a new format
On January 25, during a press tour for media representatives, the modernized four libraries, implemented within the framework of the "Rukhani Zhagyru" program, were presented.
Let us recall, earlier the Akim of the city of Almaty, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, got acquainted with the new format of the libraries' work. He noted that on the basis of libraries, centers of useful leisure for children and youth are being created within walking distance. In general, after the modernization, the number of readers increased by 25%, and in some places by 50%.
The modernization of libraries began in 2017 as part of the implementation of the "Rukhani Zhagyru" program for a modern range of services, developing a creative atmosphere for communication, reading, ensuring high demand for libraries, and the operation of new dialogue and cultural platforms. The purpose of modernization is to create a new model of libraries, the development of innovative forms of work.
The number of modernized libraries has increased every year. Thus, today out of 25 libraries of the Centralized Library System, 16 operate in a new format. If in the first year only one library was modernized - the City Youth Library named after Zhambyl, five were modernized in 2019. These are branch libraries # 15, 20, 24, 32, 33. And in 2020, ten branch libraries: the Central City Library named after Chekhov, Library of Kazakh Writers, City Children's Library named after Krylov, branch libraries No. 1, 4, 6, 26, 29, 30, 44. In 2021, it is planned to modernize three more libraries: the Central City Children's Library named after V.I. Begalin, branch libraries No. 39,14.
The new libraries not only changed their appearance and new image, but also changed the operating mode. From now on the libraries will work daily from 9.00 to 20.00, seven days a week. Additionally, various circles and clubs will open in each object. For example, "Family Living Rooms", where attention will be paid to the leisure of the whole family. Events are planned to be hold in an active format, where libraries become a platform for dialogue between a wide range of specialists: writers, artists, art historians, scientists, volunteers. All activities will be carried out in compliance with quarantine measures.
A large range of activities will be organized for children of different ages. For example, various trainings, quests for children. The work of such free circles as "English", "Beading", "Origami", "Drawing", "Chess" and others. In addition, readers can participate in various evenings, meetings with poets, writers, presentations of new books.
After the modernization, the number of seats in each library increased, various corners for individual work, communication, events and Internet rooms were created.
