Popular Azerbaijani travel bloggers Orkhan Aslanov, Seymur Aliyev, and Ayaz Kara have visited Almaty and the Shymbulak ski resort. The interest of foreign influencers in the mountainous locations of the metropolis confirms the city's growing appeal as a destination for winter and active tourism. This was reported by the Almaty Tourism Department.
During their trip, the guests familiarized themselves with Shymbulak's infrastructure, appreciated the variety of slopes for skiers and snowboarders of different skill levels, as well as the unique combination of mountain landscapes and the panorama of Almaty.
Orkhan Aslanov, for whom this is not his first visit to Almaty, noted that the city and the Shymbulak resort reveal themselves to him in a new way each time. He said that night skiing made a particularly strong impression on him.
"Descending from a height of about 3200 meters against the backdrop of the night city is an experience that cannot be described in words. It absolutely must be felt," shared the blogger.
Seymur Aliyev, in turn, emphasized the high potential for tourist exchange between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
"Almaty attracts with its culture, people, and the convenient location of ski resorts near the city, which makes the vacation comfortable and interesting," he noted.
This was Ayaz Kara's first time in Kazakhstan. He was particularly impressed by the night skiing at Shymbulak. "Here you feel sincere hospitality and friendliness," the blogger shared.
"Publications by influencers on social media will contribute to the further promotion of Almaty on international tourism platforms and strengthen its image as an attractive destination for winter, mountain, and active recreation," noted the city's tourism department.
The «Almaty Mount Fest» is being held for the fourth time this year which will be held from 2 to the 5 of september 2022. It traditionally brings together professionals and fans of mountain sports and all adherents of a healthy way of life and active rest.
The various activities of the festival are aimed at promoting sports and healthy leisure and attracting to Almaty tourists from Kazakhstan and neighboring countries. It is supposed to strengthen the position of the southern capital of Kazakhstan on the international tourism market.
The event is supported by the akimat of the city of Almaty.
The festival is free, but pre-registration is required. One-time ropeway up and down from Medeu to Shymbulak for registered participants and athletes will also be free during the festival.

The mayor of the megalopolis Bakytzhan Sagintayev examined the progress of the construction of the Qazaq Auyl complex, the main purpose of which is the development of ecological tourism.
The glamping eco-complex Qazaq Auyl in the national style is being built in the Kim-Asar gorge. It includes a restaurant, 15 guest houses and an amphitheater for events. The project provides for the connection of the restaurant with the Medeu Park Hotel and the visitor center. A separate room is provided for the visit center, where information services will be provided and tourist equipment will be sold.
The total area of Qazaq Auyl is 1.3 hectares, the area of premises is 850 sq. m. The commissioning of the eco-complex with the creation of 20 jobs is planned in 2022.
The project was developed taking into account the development of eco-tourism, which is reflected in the overall landscaping, the planning structure of the site and the compositional solution of the objects that make up the structure of the complex.
To ensure public order, security, evacuation and rescue of people in emergency situations, the availability of specialized vehicles is provided.
Mayor of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev took part in the opening ceremony of the Ibis Almaty Jetisu Hotel. Another hotel of the Accor famous international chain will be opened in stages.
The multifunctional hotel complex "Zhetysu" is located in the central part of the city, within walking distance from metro stations, shopping malls and park areas. The hotel has 222 rooms.

Mayor of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev got acquainted with a new tourist facility created as part of measures to develop sustainable ecotourism.
The project, implemented by a private investor, is a tourist information center with a catering point, a tourist equipment store and a public bathroom.
In the visit center, you will be able to get all the necessary information about the Ile-Alatau National Park, for this purpose, the Visit Almaty information stand is installed here, consultants work. It will provide data on tourist destinations, trails, contacts of objects on the territory of the National Park and the necessary equipment for safe and comfortable tourism.
"We are happy to open a visitor center on such a wonderful holiday as Independence Day. On the way to the dam, we installed 15 benches for vacationers. We also want to equip a pedestrian zone," said Sergey Spitsyn, head of Tau Zhol Shymkent LLP.
The visit center at VSK "Medeu" is located on a territory with a total area of 208 sq. m. The volume of investments is 100 million tenge with the creation of 50 jobs.
As reported, in order to ensure a safe and comfortable stay in the mountains, a helicopter pad is being built in the Tuyuk-su tract. In addition, 15 mountain rescue huts have been installed on remote nodal sections of mountain routes with satellite communication and SOS alarm buttons.
2 special control and rescue points have been manufactured, which will be installed in mountainous areas with 16 rescuers on duty around the clock. A pilot project of the alarm button monitoring system in the Kimasar Gorge has been launched.
Today, more than 1,000 km of mountain hiking trails have been digitized in the mountainous area, of which over 500 km have been landscaped. All of them are available on the 2Gis and ViewRanger platforms. All the necessary information data is installed on these routes, including stands with QR codes, where tourists can get acquainted with the complexity of the route, its length and time of passage.
In addition, it is planned to complete the improvement of mountain routes with a total length of about 179 km in the Big and Small Almaty gorges by the end of this year. Work is also underway to create 6 camping zones in Gorelnik, Prosveshchentse, Kyzylsai, Kazachka and in the "Lunnaya" clearing.
On December 12, 2021, the solemn laying of the capsule took place on the occasion of the launch of the construction of the Medeu Park hotel on the site of the former infrastructure facility of the Medeu Hotel.
10 heroes who contributed to the development of the city, the country and the hotel complex were invited to the ceremony. Each symbolic item is a subjective interpretation of how the owner perceived time in 2021.
The event took place on the eve of the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the construction site of the hotel complex. The presentation of the time capsule, the start of construction of the Medeu Park hotel and the laying of symbolic objects for 30 years took place at the event itself.
The new hotel complex will be built strictly within the boundaries of the former infrastructure facility. Moreover, when designing it, all the nuances were taken into account: from fitting into the existing natural and architectural ensemble to protecting the environment and the needs of vacationers.
A hotel complex consisting of two 3-storey buildings will be built on the territory of 2.1 hectares. On the first floor there will be a hotel with 90 seats and a restaurant with 300 seats, on the second - an apartment hotel. A 25-meter swimming pool, a spa, as well as several conference halls will be available in the hotel for guests of both blocks. Almost half of the territory will be occupied by an open recreational area for walking and recreation for all vacationers. The territory of the square will become a deep place in the city, where vacationers can walk on the territory of "Medeu". Also on the territory of the complex there will be several public toilets, an emergency medical center, bicycle parking, charging points for gadgets and a video surveillance system. As part of comprehensive measures to create an inclusive environment in cooperation with the National Paralympic Committee, places for transport of people with disabilities, as well as entrances to buildings providing unhindered access to elevators, have been taken into account.
To date, the project has already passed the state examination, received a construction permit and started the construction of the hotel. The project plans to take the first guests to the hotel by the end of 2022.
