. waste management System.
Since 2017, a waste sorting complex has been operating in Aktobe. Last year, the complex changed its owner. Today, the waste sorting complex extracts up to 20% of the waste components from the waste coming to the city landfill.
The city landfill is under the trust management of "NEO PLUS" LLP, which is also engaged in collecting and transporting solid waste in most of the city territory. The partnership has installed 195 containers for separate collection, including:
- for glass and cullet-10 units;
- for waste plastic, plastic, polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate packaging-160 units;
- for waste paper, cardboard and waste paper – 25 units;
Since last year, 5 secondary raw materials reception points have been opened in the city, including one point opened by neo PLUS LLP, the rest by Raw resource LLP, and there is an intention to install 20 more such reception points.
At the same time, realizing that the measures taken are not enough, cooperation has been established with Operator ROP LLP and the Ministry of ecology, Geology and natural resources to implement a pilot project for the introduction of separate collection and sorting of solid household waste in Aktobe.
As part of this project, it is planned to supply another sorting line, 962 containers for separate collection of plastic waste and glass, and 10 units of special equipment. At the same time, one of the conditions for the implementation of this project is the allocation of funds by the mayor's office of the city to bring container sites into the appropriate form and deploy extensive media work to promote separate collection of solid waste.
If the work in the regional center is more or less established and there are prospects, then in the districts there is still no proper understanding of the importance of MSW sorting.
There are 12 solid waste landfills in the region, of which only 5 are municipal (Aktobe, Alga, Shalkar, Khromtau and Kenkiyak ), the rest are private, mainly serving the villages of oil workers.
This year, funds were allocated to start construction of three landfills in the district centers of Martuk, Khobda, and Karaulkeldy.
In 2021 will complete the construction of these polygons and at the same time it is planned to develop design estimates for the ranges for Badamchi and Shubarkuduk and 4 FS for p. UIL, Irgiz, and Karabutak Komsomol.
In 2022, according to the existing POI, construction will begin (Badamsha, Shubarkuduk) and according to the available feasibility studies (UIL, Irgiz, Komsomol and Karabutak), the development of working projects.
In 2023, 4 landfills will be built in UIL, Irgiz, Komsomol and Karabutak.
