Kokzhar fair

Kokzhar fair-fair in the Vilskaya fortress (19th century). It is open twice a year in spring (from June 15 to 15) and in autumn (from September 15 to October 15). According to statistics, at the spring opening of the Kokzhar fair in 1900, the trade turnover amounted to 1 million 491 thousand rubles, and in the autumn period it reached 509 thousand rubles. At the Kokzhar fair, Kazakhs presented Russian goods (fabrics, dishes, sugar-tea, etc.) with sheep, horses, etc. livestock products (camel wool, sheep wool and skins, goat down, etc.) were exchanged for felt, wool carpet coats (Fox, Korsak, wolf, etc.). Trade here was of an exchange nature.
