ELECTRICITY SUPPLY
To date, the power consumption of Aktobe region averages 873 MW, including the generation of local energy sources – 499 MW (57%) the main sources of electricity generation: Zhanazhol GTPP LLP (85 MW), Aktyubinskaya CHP JSC (120 MW), SNPS Aktobemunaygas JSC
(71 MW), AZF (120 MW) and other power plants
(103 MW).
The electricity deficit of 375 MW (43%) comes from northern sources, including 105 MW through the Zhetikara-Krai line, and 270 MW from the Russian Federation.
Based on the dynamics of the load increase, as well as according to the forecast of KEGOC JSC, by 2028 electricity consumption will amount to 1,270 MW.
In this regard, to ensure the balance of electric energy by 2030, all possible options are being considered in the region, such as the development of traditional renewable sources of electricity, strengthening energy ties of western regions and integration with the Unified Energy System of Kazakhstan.
To this end, the following measures are currently being taken:
Unification of the Western Region with the unified energy system of Kazakhstan
Currently, by order of JSC "KEGOC"
A feasibility study (feasibility study) is being developed to find optimal options for the construction of overhead lines and substations in the territories of regions that provide a forecast energy balance until 2035.
In accordance with the feasibility study, 5 options are considered:
Definition:
Option 1. PS "Karabatan" - PS "edge". Voltage class 500kV, alternating current;
Option 2. PS "Karabatan" – PS "Karatobe" – PS Shielisai-PS Ulke. Voltage class 220 kV, alternating current;
Option 3. Air line No. 1: PS " Steppe " – PS " edge". Air line No. 2: Kabatan PS – Kray PS. Voltage class 500 kV, alternating current;
Option 4. PS "MAEK" - PS "Zhezkazgan". Voltage class 500 kV, direct current;
Option 5. PS "MAEK" - PS "Shymkent". Voltage class 500 kV, direct current.
According to preliminary data, preference is given to option 1. The network capacity is 500 MW.
The full launch of the project is scheduled for 2028.
To date, akimats of the districts of Aktobe region have agreed on the territory of the preliminary passage of the air line.
To date, the territory of the passage of the air line has been agreed with the akimats of Aktobe city and districts (Alginsky, Bayganinsky, Temirsky districts).
Strengthening of the thermal power complex
In September of this year, Aktyubinskaya CHPP JSC plans to launch a gas turbine plant with an installed capacity of 57 MW.
In addition, by order of the subsidiary company ERG (ERG Capitalprojects LLP), it is planned to build a power plant for generating electricity by burning the utilization gas of the Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant (AZF). To date, a feasibility study has been developed and an independent analysis is being carried out in expert organizations. The installed capacity of this power plant is 100 MW. A full launch is planned for December 2024. (UES FG-utilization power plant on ferroalloy gas)
Development of renewable energy sources
Investors of the Italian company ENI
In the period from 2019 to 2022, 2 wind farms with a total capacity of 96 MW were put into operation.
To date, the Company, having experience in the construction of renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan, plans to build wind farms with an additional capacity of 100 MW.
The company is considering the possibility of participating in an auction for the construction of renewable energy sources (RES), which will be held in November this year.
In 2022, Next Green Energy LLP took part in an auction for the implementation of renewable energy projects and became the winner for the construction of a 50 MW wind power plant in the Mugalzhar district.
In addition, the capacity of G Capital Projects LLP
It is planned to build a wind power plant with a capacity of 150 MW. To date, the design and estimate documentation of the wind power plant is undergoing state expertise. The launch of the power plant is planned for the beginning of 2024.
Also, the company "Sungrow Power Supply" LLP is interested in the construction of a wind power plant with a nominal capacity of 400 MW. To date, the Company is negotiating with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and plans to participate in an auction for the implementation of renewable energy projects.
After the implementation of the above projects
It is planned to introduce new generating capacities in the amount of 857 MW and the construction of overhead power transmission lines with a capacity of 500 MW.
