Meeting of the Coordinating Council for Interaction with NGOs

A regular meeting of the Coordinating Council for Interaction with Non-Governmental Organizations chaired by the Vice Minister of Information and Public Development of Kazakhstan Marat Azilkhanov was held in the city of Nur Sultan.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee on Civil Society Affairs Aliya Galimov presented the main approaches of the draft Concept of Civil Society Development until 2025. The concept will determine the trends of development of civil society of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the next six years.

The draft Concept provides for the development and improvement of legislation in the sphere of civil society, the development of the system of public participation in the development and implementation of State programmes and initiatives, assistance in the development of social and economic policy of the State, the improvement of the system of partnership between the State, business and civil society, and the improvement of the sustainability of civil society.

The Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Family Affairs Madiyar Kozhakhmet presented information on the participation of non-governmental organizations in the implementation of the state youth policy within the framework of the Year of Youth and the involvement of young people in socially important projects.

The head of this center Zhannat Dubirov told about the measures taken to disseminate the model of iKomek 109 the monitoring and response service following the example of the center. These measures are aimed primarily at increasing information openness and improving feedback to the population

The executive director of Public fund "Ana Yi" Baliya Akimbekova shared experience of creation, a regulation and ensuring functioning of the non-state agency on adoption on the basis of Public Fund "Ana Yi".

In addition, President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan Asylbek Kozhakhmetov, Executive Director of the Congress of Youth of Kazakhstan Tokhtar Bolysov made presentations, representatives of state bodies and the non-governmental sector took an active part in the discussion.

Following the meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, recommendations for further improvement of cooperation between NGOs and state bodies were developed.
