Already our athletes as part of the national team will go to the Winter Olympics in Beijing,..

Already our athletes as part of the national team will go to the Winter Olympics in Beijing, which will be held from February 4 to 22. A total of 95 countries will take part, 109 sets of medals will be awarded in seven sports in 15 disciplines.

Our athletes make up the backbone of the national team - they will compete in freestyle skiing, ski jumping, biathlon and alpine skiing. Nine East Kazakhstan residents have won 13 licenses. Their names are known to everyone: Yulia Galysheva, Ayaulym Amrenova, Anastasia Gorodko, Dmitry Reyherd, Pavel Kolmakov, Olesya Graur, Sergey Tkachenko, Galina Vishnevskaya-Sheporenko and Zakhar Kuchin. Each of them has victories in major international competitions, but still the Olympics is the main event in the life of any athlete. I wish our national team good luck, endurance and am deeply convinced that all East Kazakhstan citizens will cheer for our national team!!!
