Preparations for the 175th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev

A working commission was created in the region under the leadership of Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov in order to develop and conduct a set of activities dedicated to this date. Its structure includes representatives of public associations, creative and scientific intelligentsia.

A meeting of the regional commission on celebrating the 175th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev was held during the working visit of the head of the region to Abai district. At the meeting, they talked about the preparatory work they have already begun to held in East Kazakhstan in this direction.

“Based on the opinions of the commission’s members, a regional plan of events related to celebrating the 175th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev was prepared,” Azamat Mukhamedchinov, the Head of Culture, Archives and Documentation Administration of East Kazakhstan region said at the meeting.

According to Azamat Mukhamedchinov, the plan includes more than 330 various events at the international, national, regional and district levels, and the provisional  budget accounts for KZT880 million.

The plan has three major directions: improving historical and cultural sites and road repairing in Abai district, conducting scientific, analytical, socially significant, cultural and social events, as well as an information-image range of work.
