Preservation of biodiversity
Following the results of the conducted biotechnical activities it was possible to stabilize the condition of the populations of the basic wild game animals and to achieve their sustainable population growth. The number of wild hoofed animal for the period from 2012 to 2017 was increased by 11,7 % (elk, maral, roe, Siberian mountain goat, wild boar), upland fowl by 25,8 % (wood-grouse, blackcock, hazel grouse, keklik).
In total, in the region there are 37 species of wild game animals. The region effectively carries out the biotechnical activities to decrease the predation rate of wolf, feral dogs in hunting areas, of hooded ravens in places of nesting of upland fowl and water fowl.
Within the framework of the nature protection programs, the regional akimat annually conducts the population controlling measures by shooting of wolves. The local budget annually allocates almost KZT 10 million for these purposes to shoot about 400 wolves.
Since 2016 for the first time, due to funds of the local budget it was possible to stock the reservoirs of the region. In all, they were stocked by about 640,000 young fish of carp to the sum of KZT 12 million 236 thousand.
The volumes of the rescued fish from drying-up and cutoff reservoirs are increased. In 2017 it is rescued 8,3 million pieces of fish.
