The following works are carried out in sports: creating conditions for individuals to practice sports at their place of residence and in places of their mass recreation, conducting and organizing mass sports and physical culture and recreation events by sports, ensuring the training of district national teams by sports and their participation in regional, republican and international sports competitions, ensuring the development of mass sports and national sports on the territory of the district, coordination of the activities of physical culture and sports organizations on the territory of the district, organization of work on assignment of sports categories to athletes: athlete of the 2nd category, athlete of the 3rd category, athlete of the 1st junior category, athlete of the 2nd junior category, athlete of the 3rd junior category, organization of work on assignment of qualification categories: coach of the highest qualification level of the second category, coach of the middle qualification level of the second category, methodologist of the highest qualification level of the second category, methodologist intermediate level of qualification of the second category, instructor-athlete of the highest level of qualification of the second category, sports judge, formation of a unified calendar of mass sports events, work on collecting and analyzing information on the development of physical culture and sports, formation of district lists of national teams by sports, organization of medical support for official physical culture and sports events, assistance in accessibility of sports facilities to the population in the district, provision of methodological and advisory assistance to sports organizations, promotion of achievements in the field of physical culture and sports and the principles of a healthy lifestyle, coordination of sports clubs and sections, implementation of other functions in the interests of local government.
