In the field of highways and passenger transport, the department carries out the following types of work: implementation of state policy in the field of transport, road management activities in the district; ensuring state control over compliance with the requirements of legislation on road management and other design documentation; participation in the work of the acceptance committee for acceptance of constructed objects related to the area of activity into operation; manages the network of public roads of district significance, streets in populated areas; management of roads and road enterprises that are in the municipal ownership of the district; implementation of state control during the production of work on the construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of public roads of district significance, streets in populated areas within the district; approval of the names and indexes of public roads of district significance in agreement with the local executive bodies of the region; implementation of road development planning in accordance with the approved republican and regional programs; maintaining a register of routes for regular rural and intra-district automobile transportation of passengers and baggage; organization of construction and operation of transport infrastructure facilities of regional significance; organization of work on preparation of proposals for draft regulations, instructions and other regulatory legal acts concerning control of motor transport and highways; ensuring approval of passenger boarding and disembarkation points in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in agreement with authorized bodies.
