A New Year tree was solemnly lit in Aktau on the Yntymak Square today.
The honorary duty to light the main Christmas tree was given to the country's champion in bocce, an 8-year-old resident of Aktau, Nurdaulet Kozhabekov.
All residents of the city participated in the ceremony of lighting the Christmas tree. Before the event, fairy-tale characters gave the audience a festive mood.

Aktau hosted a number of events dedicated to the memory of Alash ardakty, one of the founders of the Kazakh state of the twentieth century, prominent statesman and public figure Zhalau Mynbayuly, the center of Public Communications reports.
Zhalau Mynbayuly is a great politician of his time, a chiseled figure who was the chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Kazakh Assr. Zhalau Mynbayuly is a veteran of Alash, who fought with his supporters all his life for loyalty and believed in the future of the established Kazakh National Republic. Until the end of his life, he remained faithful to his nation and fought for the country of the Kazakh people, for which he was repressed.
The memory of zhalau Mynbayev began with the laying of flowers at his monument. The descendants of the grandfather remembered him and dedicated the Koran.
After the ceremony of laying flowers, the Republican scientific and Practical Conference "flag of independence of the nation" was held. It glorified the valiant work of Zhalau Mynbayuly for the service of the nation and the courage with which he worked until he had a spoonful of blood left. The event also presented a book by the Mangystau poet Sabir Adai "er Zhalau".
The conference was attended by scientists-historians, Alash scientists, veterans and intellectuals of Mangystau region, representatives of public and youth organizations.
Ulugbek Tnaliyev, who took part in the conference, noted the importance of the event for the younger generation.
-In the last century, the Kazakh people lived through the years of suffering, when millions of people died, became enemies of the people on their land, were convicted innocent, and our gray people were shot innocent. During those periods, our citizens, such as Zhalau Mynbayuly, who fought for the freedom of their native country, became victims of the totalitarian regime. It is a great honor to look at the personality of Alash's son, state and public figure, leader of spirituality Zhalau Mynbayuly from the height of the present day, to study his figure from the point of view of independent knowledge, Ulugbek Tnaliyev said.
The purpose of the event is to show the place in the history of the nation of the political consequences of Soviet power in Kazakhstan in the 1920s and 1930s and to study the heritage of zh. Mynbayuly in the context of modernity, to give him a worthy assessment as a person of the nation and to promote the way of life for the next generation.
It should be noted that the conference was organized with the support of the akimat of Mangystau region and the Caspian University of technology and engineering named after sh. Yessenov.

Tenth graders of secondary school No. 29 named after Fariza Ongarsynova Kolganat Akbota and Bekkali Aruzhan took first place in the category "water maze" at the VII International Festival of Robotics, Programming and Innovative Technologies.
This year, in addition to schoolchildren from Kazakhstan, several foreign teams came to the event: from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Greece. In total, about 300 teams are participating this year – about 800 schoolchildren who represent all regions of Kazakhstan.

During his working trip to Mangystau region, the Head of State got acquainted with the work of the Caspian desalination plant.
The President was told about the implementation of the enterprise modernization project. Currently, work is underway to double the capacity of the plant, which produces 20 thousand cubic meters of clean water per day.
Opening the meeting with the public of Mangystau region, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev focused on the unique features of the region and noted that the region has a huge potential for development and prosperity. According to the President, over the years of Independence, the population of the region has increased 2.5 times.
According to the Head of State, one of the priorities of the region's development should be the modernization of industry and business. One of the main tasks of the state at the current stage is the real diversification of the national economy. It is necessary to create production facilities that produce finished products of deep processing.
– For 2023-2026, it is planned to implement 29 projects worth more than one trillion tenge, which will create more than 3 thousand permanent jobs. I instruct the Government and Akimat to ensure the timely completion of all planned projects. The region has great potential in the field of entrepreneurship development. In recent years, the share of small and medium-sized businesses in the gross regional product has reached 32%. Almost 140 thousand people are employed in this field. I am glad that the number of entrepreneurs in the manufacturing sector, tourism, trade, as well as in education and medicine is growing. I think this is evidence that the region's economy has embarked on the path of diversification. An additional impetus to the development of SMEs in the region can be given by more active use of the tool "Men – kasipkermin" ("I am an entrepreneur")," the Head of State said.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called the next important task to increase the transport, logistics and investment potential. According to him, Mangystau region, due to its favorable geographical location, has a huge potential to become a transport and transit hub of global importance.
– The port city of Aktau is rightfully considered the sea gate of Kazakhstan. Against the background of the reformatting of global logistics chains, the role of the Caspian Sea has increased dramatically. We plan to implement a number of measures aimed at attracting investments in the development of port infrastructure, the creation of container and transport and logistics hubs. Taking into account the current situation on world markets, the further development of the Trans-Caspian route is of particular importance. We have mutual understanding with partner countries on this issue," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
Separately, the President focused on the problem of the quality of roads. Recalling the constant complaints of local residents about the quality of roads of regional significance, he said that improving the quality of roads requires the closest attention. In particular, the Head of State pointed out that the work on the construction of the Beineu-Shalkar highway is very slow, and instructed the Government to speed up the preparation of all documents for the start of construction of this road. In addition, the Government, together with the Akimat, has been instructed to start repairing the Aktau – Fort-Shevchenko and Taushyk–Shetpe roads from next year.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that in terms of investments made, the volume of products produced and taxes paid, the Aktau Seaport SEZ is among the top three in the republic. He also said that he had set a task to provide undeveloped land plots in special economic zones with infrastructure facilities.
– I think that the Government needs to extend the terms of operation of special economic zones. One of the successful examples of Kazakhstan's investment cooperation with foreign partners is the project to create a center for the production of "green" hydrogen. Last week, during the official visit of the President of the European Council Charles Michel, a corresponding investment agreement was signed between Kazakhstan and a German-Swedish company. The investor plans to organize the production of "green" hydrogen in the Mangystau region. It is also planned to build a desalination plant with a capacity of 255 thousand cubic meters per day, a 40 gigawatt renewable energy station. The implementation of this project will create about 3,500 jobs for the construction period and 1,800 new permanent jobs after the commissioning of the facility. Domestic personnel will be trained and trained, infrastructure construction will be provided, the investor will fulfill his social obligations," the President said.
Further, the Head of State focused on the issues of modernization of the water supply system and engineering infrastructure of the region, the development of the cities of Aktau and Zhanaozen.
He said that the task has been set to provide all cities and villages of the region with clean drinking water within five years. By the end of this year, 12 villages will be provided with centralized water supply. By 2025, it is planned to implement 9 water desalination projects in the region, 4 projects for the construction and reconstruction of main water pipelines.
According to the President, there are projects in the region that need to be implemented immediately. Among them are the construction of a desalination plant in the village of Kenderli and the reconstruction of the Astrakhan –Mangyshlak main water pipeline, commissioned 33 years ago. In addition, the dynamic development of the region and high population growth rates sharply raise the issue of modernization of engineering networks, whereas today the engineering networks of Aktau are worn out by 75%. In this regard, the Head of State instructed the Government to allocate the necessary funds for the reconstruction of engineering networks. Then he dwelt on the issues of further development of the regional center.
– We set the task to develop Aktau as one of the main centers of tourism in our country. Therefore, the architectural appearance of the city lying on the seashore should be attractive and modern. It is necessary to solve the problem of dilapidated houses in the regional center. There are 280 of them here. I instruct the Government to develop a special program for the modernization of housing in the city of Aktau. The complex development of Zhanaozen requires special attention. Over 580 billion tenge has been allocated to solve its problems. For the city, these are significant funds that need to be used competently," the President stressed.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev focused on the development of education and healthcare, as well as youth support. He noted that there is a high shortage of places in kindergartens – there are about 10 thousand children in the queue. The situation is similar with schools. There are not enough 13 thousand student places in the region, there are emergency and three-shift schools.
According to the President, it is necessary to use the opportunities of public-private partnership for the construction of kindergartens. He also said that 21 schools will be built in the Mangystau region in the next three years as part of the National project "Comfortable School". The Head of State drew attention to the fact that this is not enough, and called for wider use of business opportunities in this work.
According to the Head of State, special attention should be paid to the training of professional personnel in demand in the region. According to him, more than 73 thousand grants have been allocated for higher education in the current academic year. In addition, 10 thousand targeted educational grants were additionally provided for applicants from the western regions of the country, 6 thousand of which were intended for the Mangystau region.
– Only a quarter of these grants have been disbursed. This is unacceptable. At the same time, there is a high demand for qualified specialists in the region. All this indicates a weak career guidance activity of universities and the relevant ministry. Information work with applicants and their parents was not properly carried out. I instruct the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to conduct information and explanatory work on targeted educational grants at the proper level. I must say that grants for training for local youth, the shortage of specialists, and ultimately the development of the whole region are all closely related problems. Therefore, the akim of the region needs to approach their consideration very carefully," the President said.
At the same time, the Head of State noted the priority of creating conditions and incentives for talented and active youth to realize their potential. He believes that local youth need to travel to other regions, including Almaty, Astana, to improve their skills or find employment. You need to expand your horizons, you can not limit yourself only to your area.
Another important area requiring attention, according to the President, is the development of the healthcare system. He said that the construction of the central hospital in the Munaili district has begun. Special attention needs to be paid to the equipment of ambulance crews, the condition of sanitary vehicles. There is a need to build a multidisciplinary hospital and a new ambulance station in the regional center.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the agro-industrial sector is one of the strategic priorities of the economic development of our country. In this context, the task is set to increase the potential of agriculture and the development of the food market of the Mangystau region.
– We have all the necessary potential for this. First of all, we must provide our own country with high-quality and affordable food. This issue is of particular importance in the Mangystau region. Food worth $100 million is imported here every year. High dependence on external supplies affects the prices of products, the growth of which has already exceeded 20% since the beginning of the year. In many ways, this situation is related to the geographical features of the region and problems in logistics. At the same time, Mangystau acts as a key center in the transport and transit strategy of Kazakhstan. Therefore, it is necessary to increase opportunities for the export and import of food products," the President said.
In October, 33.3 mm of precipitation fell in Aktau. This is almost three times the monthly norm (13 mm). This was reported in the press service of Kazhydromet RSE.
