We've noticed a rise in scams where fraudsters impersonate officials from the Agency, calling citizens and claiming that their funds are under threat. The scammers say they need your help to "protect" your money and urge you to follow their instructions to supposedly secure your accounts.
To make the scam seem more legitimate, they send fake ID photos and documents with our agency's logo. Under their influence, people end up transferring their savings to the fraudsters' accounts.
Additionally, there’s an increase in fake social media profiles pretending to be the Financial Monitoring Agency. These scammers promise quick refunds for money lost in fraudulent schemes. They ask for personal details like phone numbers and the amount of money lost. Then, they call back from various numbers (including international ones), posing as agency staff and trying to steal your bank info.
The Financial Monitoring Agency NEVER calls individuals, either by phone or via messaging apps.
Stay alert, double-check info with official sources, and don't fall for scammers’ tricks!
