A delegation of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (FMA) headed by Chairman Dmitry Malakhov is taking part in the work of the 40th Plenary Week of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (EAG).
The large-scale international event is being held from May 27 to 31, 2024 in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic).
During the Plenary Session, the EAG member states approved the procedure for conducting the 3rd round of mutual evaluations of national AML/CFT/CBO systems and monitoring their progress.
It is important to note that this will allow the Secretariat of the Organization to begin practical interaction with the countries that will be evaluated first in the upcoming new round.
In addition, the Plenary Session considered and approved Japan's application for EAG observer status.
The FMА delegation also took part in the 27th meeting of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units, an informal meeting of the Caspian Sea region countries, and a number of meetings with financial intelligence units of other countries to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation. The AML Academy presented its current activities.
The Kazakh delegation also included representatives of the Judicial Administration, the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the Committee of the AIFC, JSC Altyn Bank and the AML Academy.
