1. In the presence of what document is it possible to alienate products?

      Alienation or transfer of rights of property to the breeding products (material) shall be permitted in existence of pedigree certificate, issued in accordance with provisions of this Law (Article 6 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On livestock breeding» dated July 9, 1998 № 278).

2. 2. Are permit documents required for the import and export of breeding products?

     Export of breeding products (material) shall be carried out in existence of pedigree certificate and veterinary health certificate, issued by the authorized body. Import of breeding products (material) shall be carried out in existence of veterinary health certificate and pedigree certificate, recognized in the established manner or document, equivalent to it, issued by the component bodies of exporting country (Article 9 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On livestock breeding» dated July 9, 1998 № 278).

3. Can legal entities get land for breeding animals?

Land plots and water reservoir s shall be provided to individuals and legal entities for breeding of animal breeding from the land of agricultural purposes (Article 8 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On livestock breeding» dated July 9, 1998 № 278).

4. How to import breeding animals in the Republic of Kazakhstan?

      Import of breeding products (material) shall be carried out in existence of veterinary health certificate and pedigree certificate, recognized in the established manner or document, equivalent to it, issued by the component bodies of exporting country (Article 9 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On livestock breeding» dated July 9, 1998 № 278).

5. To whom are livestock subsidies paid?

    Subsidies are paid to commodity producers (paragraph 9 of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On approval of the Rules for subsidizing the development of livestock breeding, increasing the productivity and quality of livestock products» dated March 15, 2019 No. 108).

6. Is it possible to distill farm animals across the road?

It is not allowed to distill (ferry) farm animals along the road with asphalt and cement concrete surface in the presence of other ways (subparagraph 8) of paragraph 6 of the order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Approval of the Standard Rules of grazing of farm animals» dated April 29, 2020 № 145).

7. Who provides pastures for grazing farm animals for the population?

   The provision of pastures for grazing farm animals of the local population within settlements is carried out by decisions of the akims of a city of district significance, a settlement, a village, a rural district, and within a district, a city of regional significance - by the local executive body of the district (except for areas in cities), a city of regional significance in accordance with the Plan for pasture management and use (paragraph 14 of the order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Approval of the Standard Rules of grazing of farm animals» dated April 29, 2020 № 145).

8. Where is the slaughter of farm animals carried out for further realization of products?

      The slaughter of farm animals intended for subsequent realization is carried out at slaughterhouses or meat processing enterprises that comply with veterinary (veterinary and sanitary) standards approved in accordance with subparagraph 44) of Article 8 of the Law and veterinary (veterinary and sanitary) requirements for production facilities engaged in harvesting (slaughter of animals), storage, processing and sale products and raw materials of animal origin, approved by the Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated September 18, 2015 No. 7-1/832 (registered in the Register of State Registration of Regulatory Legal Acts No. 12208) (hereinafter – veterinary (veterinary and sanitary) requirements), in compliance with Veterinary (veterinary and sanitary) rules approved by the order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 29 2015 No. 7-1/587 (registered in the Register of State Registration of Regulatory Legal Acts No. 11940) (paragraph 5 of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On approval of the Rules for organizing the slaughter of farm animals intended for subsequent realization» dated April 27, 2015 No. 7-1/370).

9. Is it necessary to undergo a sanitary examination after the slaughter of the animal?

Before the sale, carcasses and organs obtained as a result of the slaughter of farm animals at the slaughter site (the site for the slaughter of farm animals) undergo veterinary and sanitary examination (paragraph 8 of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On approval of the Rules for organizing the slaughter of farm animals intended for subsequent realization» dated April 27, 2015 No. 7-1/370).

10. Where is it possible to see samples for chipping farm animals?

Samples of products (tools) for the identification of farm animals - tags with a radio frequency tag, chips and boluses are published on the website www.icar.org in the table of RFID devices certified by ICAR for compliance with ISO 11784 and ISO 11785 standards (subparagraph 2) of Annex 4 of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On approval of the Rules for the identification of farm animals» dated January 30, 2015 No. 7-1/68).

11. How and where to apply the horse's branding correctly?

Branding is applied by cold or hot methods. Brand for farm animals, except for horses and one-hoofed animals, are applied on the left side of the body only in the area of the thigh. For horses and one-hoofed animals the branding is applied on the left side of the body in the area of the scapula (branding) and thigh (serial number), or only in the area of the thigh (branding and serial number), according to Annex 3 to these Rules (paragraph 11 of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On approval of the Rules for the identification of farm animals» dated January 30, 2015 No. 7-1/68).

12. Is it currently possible to export sheep from Kazakhstan?

Introduce for a period of six months a ban on the export of live cattle from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan (code of the unified commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity of the Eurasian Economic Union 0102), live sheep and goats (code of the unified commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity of the Eurasian Economic Union 0104) (paragraph 1 of the joint order of the Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 4 dated January 10, 2022 and the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 20 dated January 10, 2022 «On certain issues of export of farm animals»).

13. Is vaccination of farm animals compulsory?

       Individuals and legal entities engaged in reproduction, cultivation, breeding, maintenance of agricultural, domestic and wild animals, including breeding animals, provide: timely vaccination and diagnostics of agricultural, domestic and breeding animals to ensure veterinary and sanitary safety (subparagraph 2) of paragraph 4 of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Approval of the Rules for the Treatment of Animals» dated December 30, 2014 № 16-02/701).

14. Is it possible to transport animals of different species in the same trailer?

     Animals of different species are transported separately, with the exception of those species that are naturally in contact with each other or are neutral to each other (paragraph 14 of the Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Approval of the Rules for the Treatment of Animals» dated December 30, 2014 № 16-02/701).
