Copyright does not require mandatory registration, as it arises upon creation. However, an author may register their copyright if they so choose.
The state service for entering information and changes into the Register is provided by the National Institute of Intellectual Property, a Republican State Enterprise with the right of economic management, of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This service is provided through the e-government web portal (www.egov.kz).
The author of a work or their authorized representative logs in to the aforementioned portal using an electronic digital signature, where they complete the required fields (IIN, title of the work, date of creation, and type of object), submit an application, and attach a copy of the work.
