An apostille is a special stamp certifying the authenticity of the signature of the person who signed the document and confirmation of his/her authority, as well as the authenticity of the seal or stamp with which this document is affixed in paper or electronic form.
An apostille does not require any other certification or legalization of the document and is recognized by the official bodies of all states parties to the Convention.
According to the Hague Convention of 1961, an apostille has the form of a square with a side of at least 9 cm and must correspond to the sample attached to the Convention.
An apostille in paper form is affixed to originals of official documents issued only by state bodies (institutions), officials or notaries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as a party to the Convention.
An apostille is affixed to a place of the document free of text, or on its reverse side and is affixed with the official seal of the authorized state body. In a document the volume of which exceeds one sheet, the sheets are stitched, laced and affixed with a seal.
If it is impossible to place an apostille on the submitted document, it is placed on a separate sheet of paper.
