The agro-industrial complex plays an important role in the development of the district's economy. The area's agriculture is based on animal husbandry and crop production.

To achieve efficiency in crop production with the structures of agriculture Urdzhar region the main direction of updating the machine and tractor Park of area, use of quality seed varieties, fertilizers and herbicides.
This year, agriculture agencies purchased 284 tons and sown 21,667 hectares of elite seed varieties, including 173 tons of wheat, 10 tons of oats, 55.7 tons of sunflower and 45.3 tons of esparzet and corn. 29.3 million tenge of subsidies were allocated for the development of crop production.
Along with this, 7,525 tons of summer grain seeds were used, which were fully passed laboratory tests. (470 tons of first class, 7055 tons of second class seed varieties).
Subsidies in the amount of 60.4 million tenge were paid to 28 units of agricultural formations of the district for the use of 1108.2 tons of mineral fertilizers. Along with this, the volume of herbicides used amounted to 16,337.9 tons, 29.8 million tenge of subsidies were paid to the district's farms.
In the district, 5021 tons of preferential diesel fuel were allocated and delivered to farms for spring and autumn field work in 2018, of which 2056 tons were allocated for spring and autumn field work, and 2,965 tons were delivered for autumn field work. To create favorable conditions for farms, fuel was sold by gas stations in three regions of the district in the villages of Taskesken, Urdzhar, and Makanchi.
According to operational data, in 2018, a total of 48,594. 3 hectares of grain crops were harvested, according to operational data, the volume of products produced in the bunker mass was 97.4 thousand tons. Updating the machine-tractor fleet of farms is one of the initial conditions for the timely and high-quality conduct of spring and autumn field work. As a result of the explanatory work carried out with farms in 2018, with a total cost of 822.1 million tenge, 136 units of new agricultural equipment were purchased by 72 agricultural formations. Including through JSC "KazAgroFinance" 42 farms purchased 91 units of equipment for 621.7 million tenge and from the own funds of 30 farms 42 units of equipment for the amount of 200.4 million tenge. Since 2008, the percentage of updated equipment in the area with agricultural formations has been: tractors -16.0%; combines -15.7%. This year, investment subsidies of 240.0 million tenge were paid to 113 farms to subsidize one share. We are working with agricultural producers to update the machine-tractor fleet.
In the reporting year, the expected volume of meat produced will be -20 500 tons with an increase of 5.6%, milk-82 200 tons with an increase of 5.1 %, eggs – 19 380 thousand pieces with an increase of 6%.
For the district, the expected number of cattle is 96,672 heads, including cows-44,972 heads (growth of 9.7%), sheep and goats – 215,000 heads (growth of 0.2%), horses – 29,365 heads (growth of 7.0%), poultry-132,000 heads (growth of 0.7%).
State support for the development of livestock breeding has been continued. In the district, 10 farms are engaged in breeding cattle, and 3 farms are engaged in breeding small-horned cattle. To date, the share of breeding cattle in the district is 17.1 % (18,389 heads), the share of breeding sheep is 2.8 % (7,106 heads).
Since the beginning of the year, 28 farms of the district purchased and imported 387 heads of cattle for 161.9 million tenge, of which 327 heads of cattle were imported from Russia under the Sybaga program. The purchase of cattle from abroad under the Sybaga program continues.
In the reporting year, the only Urdzhar district in Eastern Kazakhstan exported 82 tons of meat products from the farm " Algabas (to Uzbekistan)".
At the expense of own funds of farms, 25 feedlots were put into operation for 5,020 heads of cattle, and in 22 rural districts there are 7 slaughtering points and 15 slaughtering sites. Along with this, about 70 types of sausage products are produced for the population by "Swabian sausages"LLP.
In Urdzhar district there are 2 dairy farms for 400 heads. These are "Yubileyny" LLP for 200 heads in the village of Koldenen and "Sagadi" farm for 200 heads located in the village of Makanchi.
MTF for 200 heads on the basis of "Yubileyny" LLP, the project was implemented at the expense of its own funds, at a cost of 100.0 million tenge. To date, the farm contains 69 heads of dairy cows of the Simmental breed, the engineering infrastructure was summed up in 2015 under the program "business Roadmap 2020", the equipment of the Milkline company (Italy) was delivered from the trading house "Izhagroprom" in Izhevsk for 17.0 million tenge.
MTF for 200 heads on the basis of the farm "Sagadi", the cost of the project is 283.6 million tenge, including through lending in the amount of 223.6 million tenge through JSC" KazAgroFinance " and at the expense of own funds 60.0 million tenge. To date, the farm contains 108 heads of dairy cows of the Simmental breed, the engineering infrastructure was completed in 2015 as part of the "business Roadmap 2020" program, and equipment was purchased from the Russian Federation by the company "Ekoagro".
Milk collection points of "arystanbek-Urdzhar" LLP and individual entrepreneur "Nygmet kayrolla" are working to collect milk from the population. The produced products are sold in social institutions (hospitals, schools, kindergartens) and sold to the population of the district through stores (Akpekov.T).
This year, 82 projects worth 273.5 million tenge were financed for the opening and development of entrepreneurship through the agricultural support Fund JSC and the agricultural credit Corporation JSC.
The district continues to pay budget subsidies to agricultural producers for their development as part of the development of the state program "agro-Industrial complex for 2017-2021". This year, 782.0 million tenge was paid to agricultural producers, including: 111 farms received 119.6 million tenge for the development of crop production, 422.4 million tenge was paid to 576 applications for the development of livestock breeding, and 240.0 million tenge was paid to cover expenses for one share of purchased equipment to 113 farms.
For the development of beekeeping in the district, a number of works have been carried out. 130 farms are engaged in beekeeping on a regional scale. On average, 260 tons of honey is extracted from 4,500 beehives per year. To date, 11 farms for breeding breeding breeds grow the Carpathian breed of bees from 4265 hives. In order to breed breeding breeds of bees, 21,325,0 thousand tenge of budget subsidies were paid in 2018. Honey produced in the district is sold in Almaty, Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk. Along with this, an average of 50.0 tons of honey is exported to China per year.
In 2018, on the basis of the budget program "on carrying out anti-epizootic measures", works were carried out for 132.0 million tenge at the expense of the national budget.
In the reporting year, according to the plan, 134,370 heads of cattle and 292,405 heads of small cattle were tested for brucellosis, of which 345 heads of cattle and 512 heads of Mrs tested positive for brucellosis. The identified livestock is sent for sanitary slaughter. Owners were reimbursed for the costs of sick animals for 25.0 million rubles. tenge from the budget.
Disinfection works were carried out by the 1st DUK car of KSU "Urzhar-Vet" and the 1st DUK car of the Republican antiepizootic detachment. In the reporting year, disinfection works were carried out at Urdzhar-Vet KSU on an area of 36,309 square meters in 390 objects and courtyards where a brucellosis focus was detected.
In 2018, 5.0 million tenge was allocated from the district budget for the destruction of 4,014 stray dogs.
By the decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 382 dated June 27, 2018, the Republican institution "Tarbagatay State national natural Park"was established in Urdzhar district. The area of the national Park is 143,550. 5 ha. this area of the Park consists of 6 land plots of different clusters. The Park covers the southern part of the slope of the Tarbagatai mountains and the bed of the Urdzharka, Katynsu, and Emel rivers. The main goal of the national nature Park is to preserve the species of flora and fauna found only in our regions and to protect nature. This institution currently employs about 150 residents of the district.
