Urdzhar district has 51 schools, including 46 secondary schools and 5 main schools. In the village of Taskesken operates KSU "Urdzhar College", in the village of Urdzhar 1 music school, 1 sports school, in the village of Besterek boarding school for 100 places, one orphanage in the village of Naualy, "Children's house of creativity" for 150 places in the village of Makanchi. There are 43 kindergartens in the district, where 1556 children are brought up. At the same time, all schools have established mini-centers for full and short-term stay, covering 3,114 children. In the district, the coverage of children with preschool education from 3 to 6 years was 100 %, from 1 to 6 years was 97.3 %. through the service center, the population was put on the waiting list of 745 children in kindergartens. Since December of the reporting year, the system for placing pre-school children on the waiting list for referral to preschool organizations ( up to 7 years old) and admission to the 1st grade has been automated.

In the reporting year, grades 3, 6, and 8 were transferred to the updated training system.
In order to execute the program of the Plan-100 steps of the President of Kazakhstan in 8 schools, 17 are open classes with profound teaching of English language study, Russian language in Kazakh school and the Kazakh language in Russian classes. In the 2018-2019 academic year, English language clubs are open in secondary schools.

In the reporting year, 132.2 million tenge was allocated to provide students of grades 3, 6, and 8 with updated textbooks, and 86467 textbooks were purchased.
Educational institutions are provided with video surveillance cameras to protect them from terrorism. The number of video cameras in schools and kindergartens is 490 units.
In 45 school canteens, 12,105 students are provided with hot meals, which is 98.3% of the total number of district students. 2986 children from low-income families are covered with free hot meals, including: in primary classes-1,823 students, in grades 5-11-1,164 students. 3240 students in grades 1-4 are given 200 grams of free milk 4 times a week for those who are covered by meals at the expense of parents. In addition, the menu includes 5 grams of honey daily. On behalf of the mayor of the district, 51 schools have opened Botanical gardens, 49 greenhouses, 37 schools and 2 kindergartens have built warehouses for coal.
Within the framework of the "rukhani zhangyru" program of the Head of state, the project "Menin mektebim"was launched on behalf of the region's akim D. K. Akhmetov.
