The Department of land relations has a list of waiting lists for obtaining land plots for residential housing. As of 01.04.2021, 23,827 citizens are on the waiting list. One of the priority tasks is the development of unused land. In improving the use of agricultural land, it is of paramount importance to increase the culture of agriculture. In most of this territory of irrigated lands, it is necessary to carry out a comprehensive reconstruction of the irrigation network, improve the reclamation condition and increase their water supply. Light chestnut, dark chestnut and saline soils predominate mainly in Semey. The average bonus score is 12 units.
The development of unused land will make it possible to expand and create a solid base for the production of agricultural products, to ensure the food security of the region. This will increase the production volumes and yield of promising agricultural crops, reduce the import dependence of vegetable products and create a solid feed base, and will also increase the efficiency of agriculture and the rational use of pasture lands.
Work was carried out to identify unused agricultural land plots and return them to state ownership. On the basis of the cancellation of the MIO resolutions and court decisions, the unused lands of 20 peasant farms, legal entities and individuals with a total area of 10.0 thousand hectares were returned to state ownership. In the future, these lands will be involved in agricultural turnover on a competitive basis.
