Industry

In the industry: kitchen furniture increased by 6.30 times, wooden furniture for the dining room and living room - by 61.3%.

In the mining industry, the volume of production increased: pellets, stone crumbs and stone powder by 12.6%; natural Sands by 1.5 times; other minerals increased by 19.5%.

Small, medium-sized businesses

The number of registered small and medium-sized businesses amounted to 34,773 units, 100.5% compared to the same period in 2024( 34,570 units), including:

- individual entrepreneurs-29,400 units, the growth rate for the same period of 2024 is 102.1% (28,790 units) and 84.5% of the total % ;

- legal entities – 4,834 units, the growth rate for the same period of 2024 is 100.2% (4,824 units) or 13.9% of the total number (the number of medium-sized enterprises is 49 units).

The number of existing small and medium-sized businesses amounted to 32,176 units, the growth rate for the same period of 2024 was 102.6% (31,347 units), including:

- individual entrepreneurs – 27,708 units (26,685 units) with a growth rate of 103.8% for the same period of 2024 and 86.1 of the total number % ;

- legal entities – 3,955 units, the growth rate for the same period of 2024 is 105.0% (3,765 units) or 12.2% of the total number (the number of medium-sized enterprises is 49 units).

 The growth rate of the number of people employed in the sphere of small and medium-sized businesses compared to the previous year is 105.6% (67,058 people) - 70,814 people.  The share in Semey is 62.5% of the number of employed in Abay region (107,279 units). 

To date, the output of SMEs in comparison with the same period in 2024 at a growth rate of 116.2% amounted to 412.2 billion US dollars. 354.8 billion tenge.tenge).

In Semey, tax deductions from all business entities (large, medium and small businesses) for the same period in 2024 amounted to 170.1 billion rubles with a growth rate of 121.9%. 139.5 billion tenge. tenge), including 105.1 billion tenge from small and medium-sized businesses with a growth rate of 125.3% compared to the same period in 2024.     To ensure sustainable and balanced growth of regional entrepreneurship and develop competitiveness, state programs for business support and development are being implemented:

  - Portfolio subsidies for small and small businesses;

  - Guarantee under guaranteed funds 1 and 2;

  - Preferential lending programs: "Orleu","Qamqor";

  - Subsidizing domestic trade, etc.

 Since the beginning of 2025, within the framework of state programs, a total amount of 39.0 billion rubles has been allocated. 327 projects were implemented in tenge.    A competition for state grants in the field of innovative start - up projects GovTech was held in the name of the mayor of Semey. According to the results of the competitive selection, 10 winning projects were identified, the total fund of which received grant support in the amount of 29 million tenge.

 In order to protect and promote the interests of business entities, the Expert Council on entrepreneurship has been created, which, in accordance with Article 64 of the entrepreneurial code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is an advisory body. Since the beginning of 2025, 10 meetings of the Working Group on entrepreneurship of the Expert Council have been held.
