The development of transport infrastructure is one of the priorities of the Semey city Akimat, aimed at improving the quality of life of the population and ensuring safe and comfortable movement.

By the end of 2025, in the city, where the total length of the road network is 756 km and there are 1,179 streets, the share of roads with asphalt pavement reached 51%. As part of the road infrastructure development program, average repairs were carried out on 52 streets.

Repairs of key transport infrastructure facilities have also been carried out. The asphalt-concrete pavement on the suspension and old bridges has been completely replaced, and the average repair of the transport interchange in the left-bank part of the city has been completed.

Special attention is paid to the development of the inner-city road network. Asphalt concrete pavement was laid on courtyard driveways and inner-block roads of 40 yards, and work was carried out on 88 streets to grade and strengthen the roadway with crushed stone and a sand-gravel mixture.

Modernization of the public transport system has continued. In 2025, 60 new buses were purchased, which made it possible to upgrade the bus fleet and improve the quality of passenger transportation. In addition, 152 modern bus pavilions have been installed in the city.

In the Karagailinsky microdistrict, the construction of a new highway connecting the Omsk – Maykapchagai republican highway with the Energetik microdistrict has been completed, which has improved the transport accessibility of this part of the city.

In 2026, work on the development of transport infrastructure will continue. It is planned to carry out an average repair of 100 streets, asphalt 100 courtyards, as well as continue updating public transport. It is planned to purchase about 70 new buses for the city, of which 48 units have already been purchased.
