There are 3 psychological, medical and pedagogical consultations in the region to identify and account for children with special educational needs (1 in 50 thousand children).
5164 children with special educational needs are registered in psychological, medical and pedagogical consultations, of which 1838 children belong to the category of disabled people.
In order to create high-quality conditions for the education of children with special educational needs, work is being carried out within the framework of the implementation of regional programs and the "Educated Nation" project
"Barrier-free zones" providing access for children with special educational needs and children with disabilities to the general education environment have been created in 267 general education schools, which is 89%.
The coverage of children with inclusive education amounted to 2,698 children or 52% of the total number of children with special educational needs.
There are 13 correctional groups with coverage of 195 children in preschool organizations at 6 kindergartens, in which conditions for inclusive education are created.
To provide correctional support to children with special educational needs in development, there are 8 psychological and pedagogical correction rooms in the region (hereinafter referred to as KPPK). KPPK is attended by 421 children.
There are 12 schools in the region with coverage of 209 children, where there are offices for the support of children with special educational needs.
The network of special boarding schools is 4 units. There are 590 school-age children enrolled in special boarding schools.
The regional resource center for the development of inclusive education operates in Semey KSU "Secondary School No. 20 of developmental education". With the support of the charity fund "Dara" in August 2019, this resource center is equipped with equipment.
