Additional education of children is a necessary link in the upbringing of a multifaceted personality, in its education, in early professional orientation. Additional education of children is diverse, differently directed, the most variable.
Additional education forms a child's self-awareness, a sense of the value of his own personality, here the child can get rid of the habit of acting only on a hint. He satisfies his creative needs, develops interests, assimilates knowledge at the pace and volume that his individual abilities allow him.
To date, the system of additional education in the Abai region operates: 45 organizations of additional education, of which 32 objects are in the education system, 13 are in the system of culture and sports.
.In 24 organizations of additional education there are 544 circles with coverage of 16998 children (17%).
The circle work is carried out in the following areas:
- artistic and aesthetic creativity;
- military-patriotic education;
- preschool education;
- socio-pedagogical;
-IT and robotics;
- technical creativity,
- sports,
- environmental,
-tourism and local lore,
-language.
During the summer period, 8 country camps worked, where 2896 children had a rest.
At the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year, 1853 interest groups are working in secondary schools. The coverage of children in them is 35,257 (35.3%).
One of the important indicators of additional education is the involvement of children in mass sports. On a free basis, there are 1955 sports sections by sports: volleyball, basketball, football, chess, togyzkumalak, skiing, table tennis, speed skating, wrestling, etc. The coverage of students by sports sections is 36,421 students (35.5%).
In all organizations of additional education in the region, work continues on holding events dedicated to the Year of Children, the implementation of projects of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Debate Movement", "School Parliament", "Zhas Sarbaz".
Additional education in the region is available to all children, its quality is guaranteed by educational programs, the implementation of which is monitored by the Department of Education and education departments of cities and districts of the region. The educational process is organized in accordance with the requirements built in a pedagogically expedient logic and is aimed at developing children's motivation for cognition and creativity.
