In the Abay district, 1 district, 3 rural cultural centers and 5 rural clubs, 4 folk theaters, 2 folk song and dance ensembles regularly operate.

In 2024, 250 cultural events were held in 9 cultural centers. The number of spectators was 26,079.

In connection with the 220th anniversary of the birth of Kunanbai Oskenbayuly and the 75th anniversary of the birth of the singer and composer Zhanibek Karmenov, in order to develop national art and culture, educate the younger generation in feelings of patriotism and Kazakhstani patriotism, a creativity competition of regional artists on the theme "Hero of the Great Steppe" was held in March 2024. According to the competition regulations, 10 art groups from 9 rural districts took part in the competition. On May 21, the final gala concert of the art competition dedicated to the Day of Cultural and Art Workers was held at the district House of Culture. Based on the results of the competition, the winners were awarded diplomas of the district akim and special prizes.

A cultural evening "Singing Man - Zhanibek" was held, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of the singer, writer, Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR Zhanibek Karmenov. Artists of the Semipalatinsk State Philharmonic named after Amre Kashaubayev and the folklore song and dance ensemble "Kalamkas" took part in the cultural event.

On May 18, in honor of International Museum Day, the opening of the exhibition "Kunanbai - the man who glorified Alash" was held at the Abai State Museum-Reserve "Zhidebai-Borili" in the city of Semey, dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the birth of public figure Kunanbai Oskenbayuly.

A large-scale cultural event called "Baba Toiy-el Toiy" was held in honor of the 220th anniversary of Kunanbai Oskenbayuly. Theatrical performances on the theme "From the Child of Kunanbai to the Wise Kunanbai" were shown with the participation of artists of the district. During the event, the team of the folk song and dance ensemble "Kalamkas" was presented with a special gift from the Akim of the Abay region - the keys to the bus.

On September 26-27, a concert of the folk song and dance ensemble "Kalamkas" was held as part of the final award ceremony dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the birth of public figure Kunanbai Oskenbayuly.

On October 25, on the Day of the Republic, a ceremonial festive meeting was held in the district House of Culture.

A number of works are being carried out in the district to revive culture. In general, great responsibility is placed on each specialist in various fields of culture. In accordance with modern requirements, the members of the ensemble are engaged in creative work and are preparing for new ideas. Each song sounding on stage is accompanied by a compositional performance. Since the Abay district is a sacred place where three giants were born, it is known that honored guests from all over the republic and the world come to the village of Zhidebay in our district every day to pay tribute to their ancestors at large-scale events held in the Abay district. It has become a normal duty of cultural figures to greet and see off guests in front of the Zhidebay Museum with their art, demonstrating the culture and hospitality of the country.
