The criminal executive system provides guidance on the enforcement of penalties and other criminal measures.

Functions:

• the organization of the placement of convicted persons in institutions of the penal correction system in accordance with the sentences, orders and definitions of the courts;
• safety of objects;
• provision of arrangements for the preparation of convicted persons for release, execution of acts of amnesty, interaction of institutions and bodies of the penal correction system with other law enforcement agencies;
• departmental monitoring of institutions and bodies enforcing penalties;
• organization of general education and vocational training for convicts;
• organization of employment of convicts;
• implementation of operational search activity;
• organization and implementation of the identification, suppression, prevention and disclosure of crimes;
• consideration of complaints of violations of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreigners and stateless persons;
• creation, use and improvement of information and information-analytical systems;
• protection of state secrets;
• interaction with specialists involved in labour standards within the framework of legislation on public procurement.
