

Starting 1 February 2026, applications for admission to the military higher education institutions of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be accepted online via the eGov.kz portal.
Applications may be submitted by male citizens aged 18 to 24. The application period runs until 10 June 2026.
The military education system is represented by technical and vocational education, as well as higher (bachelor's) and postgraduate education (master's and doctoral studies).
To date, the military education system includes nine military educational institutions operating in a single regulatory and methodological field of the general education system of our country.
Postgraduate education plays an important role in the military career of officers. These are master's and doctoral degree programs that enhance knowledge in defense, strategy, security, and other critical areas for further career growth.
Postgraduate education is provided by the National Defense University in Astana.
The University trains specialists for the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations (NG, SS KNB, CDF and the Ministry of Emergency Situations), and annually conducts advanced training for more than 1,000 people, including senior staff of other government agencies.
Higher education is represented by three military institutes.

The military colleges of the Ministry of Defense are the only training centers for professional sergeants in the CIS.
