Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of Morocco were established on 26 May 1992.

On December 30, 2020, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Morocco was opened by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

H.E. Mrs. Saulekul Sailaukyzy has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Morocco since March 2021.

The Embassy operates within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and represents the interests of Kazakhstan in Morocco.

The Embassy is responsible for Kazakhstan's cooperation with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and with 8 states of West Africa, which are namely Burkina Faso, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia, Mali, Sierra Leone, Togo.

The Embassy fulfills the following core functions:

- provision of national interests and implementation of Kazakhstan's foreign policy in Morocco;

- protecting the rights and interests of citizens and legal entities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Morocco;

- developing cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of Morocco, assisting governmental bodies, public organizations, and businesses in establishing contacts and developing relations with Morocco;

- participation in preparing international agreements between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom, proposals on signing, fulfilling, and terminating agreements, as well as establishing control over the fulfillment of agreements between the two states;

- development of cooperation with ISESCO;

- strengthening of political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and the above-mentioned 8 countries of West Africa;

- consular issues;

- other issues.
