
The “Study in Kazakhstan” Scholarship Program for Studying at Universities in Kazakhstan
Dear applicants,
The “Study in Kazakhstan” program, implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, annually provides 550 grant-funded places for foreign citizens and persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan to study at leading higher education institutions of Kazakhstan.
Number of Scholarship:
The operator of the Scholarship Program is JSC "Center for International Programs".
The application for participation in the scholarship programs for the full period of study must be completed in Kazakh, Russian, or English.
Requirements for bachelor’s degree Applicants
1) The applicant receives higher and/or postgraduate education under the scholarship program if he or she is receiving education at each of these levels for the first time;
2) A copy of an identity document, including a refugee certificate;
3) A copy of the document confirming the previous level of education with a transcript and an attachment (if available), together with a notarized translation into Kazakh, Russian, or English. For applicants seeking a bachelor’s degree, the grade point average of the document confirming secondary education must be not less than “good” (except for persons holding a refugee certificate). In the absence of such documents, a certificate issued by the educational organization in which the applicant is currently studying shall be provided, including information on grades for the current period, together with a notarized translation into Kazakh, Russian, or English;
4) A motivation essay in Kazakh, Russian, or English;
5) A letter of recommendation in Kazakh, Russian, or English from the educational organization where the applicant studied, or from an employer;
6) A medical certificate for studying abroad, as well as a medical certificate confirming the absence of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection) and AIDS, issued by an official health authority of the applicant’s country of residence;

8) An invitation letter from a higher and/or postgraduate education institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan (if available).
Requirements for master’s degree Applicants
1) The applicant receives higher and/or postgraduate education under the scholarship program if he or she is receiving education at each of these levels for the first time;
2) A copy of an identity document;
3) A copy of the document confirming the previous level of education with a transcript and an attachment (if available), together with a notarized translation into Kazakh, Russian, or English (a bachelor’s or specialist’s diploma with a grade point average of at least 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA or its equivalent, obtained from educational institutions);
4) A motivation essay in Kazakh, Russian, or English;
5) Two letters of recommendation in Kazakh, Russian, or English from the educational organization where the applicant studied, or from an employer;
6) A medical certificate for studying abroad, as well as a medical certificate confirming the absence of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection) and AIDS, issued by an official health authority of the applicant’s country of residence;
