Chingirlau region is located in the eastern part of the West Kazakhstan region. The area covers an area of 7.2 thousand square meters. km. The population of the district as of December 1, 2022 is 13,943 people.
The district center is located in the village of Shyngyrlau. Part of the territory of the district borders on the Russian Federation. The Ilek River, 10 meters wide, separates the region from the Ileksky District and the Sol-Iletsky District of the Orenburg Region. There are two border crossing points in the area.
The district includes 8 rural districts: Almaznensky, Ashesaysky, Akbulaksky, Aktau, Akshatsky, Ardaksky, Karagashsky, Chingirlau.
