Who issues the abstracts and how to obtain them?

Sick note validity term
Upon diseases and traumas, doctor issues a sick note for 3 calendar days, which in some cases (for example, during ARVI outbreaks) can be extended up to 6 calendar days.
Extension of a sick note for more than 6 calendar days is performed in cooperation with a divisional manager of medical organization for the total amount of 20 calendar days. To extend the period for more than 20 calendar days, you need to obtain a statement from medical consultative board.
In case of hospitalization to in-patient facility or treatment in ambulatory conditions, a sick note is issued from the date of application with validity term up to 60 calendar days. The term can be extended in case of some types of severe diseases.
How a payment for sick note is done?
An employer is to pay social benefits for temporary incapacity to work at his/her own expense.
The calculation is performed by multiplying daily average income on the number of working days due to payment pursuant to a sick note.
The amount of social benefits paid for one month from July 1, 2023, cannot exceed 25 times the amount of the MCI for the corresponding year. Until July 1, the amount of social benefits did not exceed 15 times the amount of the MCI.
Benefit payment for a sick note to certain categories
Working participants/ the disabled of the Great Patriotic War and individuals equated to them obtain a benefit from the first day of incapacity to work in the amount of 100% from the average salary.
Benefits related to labour injuries or professional diseases are paid by an employer in the amount of 100% from the average salary from the first day of incapacity to work and until return to work or establishment of disability.
