How to get a business grant?

The government enables citizens setting up a business through:

  • teaching the fundamentals of entrepreneurship under the "Bastau Business" project;
  • providing non-repayable grants to set up a business.

Who can apply for the grant?

To receive a grant, applicants must meet the following basic conditions:

  • Be registered unemployed or a beginning individual entrepreneur (whose registration period must be less than three years).
  • Belong to one of the following social categories: 1) recipients of targeted social assistance; 2) recipients of monthly state benefits for large families with four or more minor children living together; 3) recipients of social payments in the event of the loss of a breadwinner; 4) migrants; 5) kandasy; 6) persons with disabilities who have no contraindications to work; 7) persons raising a child with a disability or his/her spouse.
  • Have a certificate of successful completion of training in the basics of entrepreneurship under the Bastau Business project, the term of which does not exceed 3 years.
  • Have a business plan developed during training under the Bastau Business project.

How to apply for the grant?

To submit an application, you should register on the Business.enbek portal using a digital signature (DS), fill in an application form in the "Grant" section and sign it using DS.

You can get DS remotely on the gov.kz website using the service:

If you do not have access to the Internet or a computer, you can submit an application in the self-service areas of career centers, public service centers, entrepreneur service centers, as well as in eQoldau public access points of Kazakhtelecom JSC, installed in rural areas.

Reference: When submitting an application, the applicant selects one of the relevant categories of socially vulnerable groups of the population on the Portal. In turn, the Portal automatically checks the applicant for compliance with one of the socially vulnerable groups of the population and for the presence of an electronic certificate of completion or earlier receipt of a certificate of participation in training in the basics of entrepreneurship under the Bastau Business project, the term of which at the time of application does not exceed three years.

After verification, the applicant downloads a business project template from the Portal, fills it out and attaches it to your personal account on the Portal.

The application submission date for the next streams will be announced in advance on the Portal, in the media and social networks. For more information, you can contact the career center at your place of residence.

Important to know! Grant funds may be used only in accordance with the business plan drawn up during the training process under the Bastau Business project, and must be used to purchase the necessary inventory, tools, technological equipment, animals, livestock, poultry, seedlings, shrubs, seeds, seedlings, as well as to pay for the rent of premises.

Conditions for obtaining the grant to establish a business.

After receiving a certificate and defending a business project, individuals can apply for a grant to start their own business.

Grants for the implementation of new business ideas are provided on a competitive basis to individuals from socially vulnerable groups.

The grant amount is up to 400 times the monthly calculation indicator.

The grant is provided once, free of charge and irrevocably, for the launch and implementation of a start-up business. An applicant can apply for a grant multiple times within different streams.

Who can apply for training under the "Bastau Business" project?

The following categories of persons may apply and participate in the training under the Bastau Business project:

  • unemployed;
  • dismissed workers who have not reached retirement age;
  • independently engaged in the production of goods, performance of work and provision of services for the purpose of generating income without registering as an individual entrepreneur, and inactive individual entrepreneurs;
  • independently engaged in unpaid activities in a family business;
  • independently engaged in the production of products in a personal subsidiary farm for sale, with incomes below the subsistence minimum;
  • members of production cooperatives with incomes below the subsistence minimum;
  • beginning and/or existing individual entrepreneurs.

How to apply for training under the "Bastau Business" project?

Applications are accepted online via the Business.enbek.kz portal.

To submit an application, you should register on the Business.enbek portal using a digital signature (DS), fill in an application form and sign it using DS.

After approval on the business.enbek.kz portal, the application is automatically sent to the skills.enbek.kz portal for online training.

The duration of the training is 14 calendar days and is free of charge.

Based on the results of the training, testing is conducted. Based on the results of the training, the participant is provided with the appropriate type of certificate: a certificate of completion of training is received by participants who scored the required number of points during the final testing - at least 70%. The certificate of completion of training is valid for three years.
