How to get a business grant?

To get the grant, you need to comply with five basic conditions:

• Be a registered unemployed or a novice
  individual entrepreneur (registration period is up to one year) or a payer of a single aggregate payment or a person employed in a private subsidiary farm.
• Belong to one of the following social categories: 1) young people (up to 29 years old); 2) recipients of targeted social assistance; 3) members of large families – recipients of benefits for having many children; 3) the disabled; 4) persons receiving benefits for raising a disabled child; 5) immigrants from
  southern regions to northern regions; 6) kandases.
• Have permanent or temporary registration at the place of residence for at least 1 year (does not apply to immigrants and kandases).
• Have a certificate of successful completion of training in the fundamentals of
  entrepreneurship under the "Bastau Business" project with a period of at least 3 years.
• Have a business plan developed during the training under the
  "Bastau Business" project. It is mandatory to have a valid certificate of completion in the fundamentals of entrepreneurship under the "Bastau Business" project and a business plan prepared during the training.

Applications are accepted online via the Business.enbek.kz portal.

To submit an application, you should register on the Business.enbek portal using a digital signature (DS), fill in an application form and sign it using DS.

You can get DS remotely on the gov.kz website using the service:

In the absence of access to the Internet or a computer, you can apply through self-service areas of employment centers, public service centers, service centers for entrepreneurs, as well as through "eQoldau" public access points of Kazakhtelecom JSC installed in rural localities.

Upon getting an approval on the Business.Enbek portal, an application is automatically sent to the portal for online training on the Atameken Academy platform. The duration of the training is 25 calendar days and is free-of-charge. Upon training completion, a testing is done.

Following the training results, a participant is provided with an appropriate type of certificate:

• certificate of completion is issued to the participants who have prepared a business plan and scored the required number of points (no less than 60%) based on the results of business plan and final testing evaluation;
• certificate of participation in training under the "Bastau Business" project is issued to participants who have increased the level of competence, but did not develop a business plan at the time of training completion, or who have received a negative feedback for a business plan.

The certificate of completion is valid for three years.

After the decision is made, a notification is sent to an applicant's personal account on the Portal.

In case of a positive decision of the commission, an applicant should provide a bank account with bank details on the Portal within 3 working days from the date of receipt of a relevant notification. Moreover, within 3 working days from the date of receipt of the notification on the Portal, a grant recipient should sign a contract in personal account using DS.

 The application acceptance dates for the following years will be announced in advance via the Portal, mass media and social media. For more information, you can contact the employment centers at the place of residence.

Note!

The grant funds can be used only in accordance with the
business plan drawn up in the course of training under the "Bastau
Business" project and should be directed to purchase the necessary
stocks, tools, technological equipment, animals, livestock, poultry, seedlings, shrubs, seeds, as well as payment for rental of premises.

After getting the certificate and presenting a business project, you can apply for a grant to set up a business. From May 15, 2023, as part of the implementation of the National Project for the Development of Entrepreneurship for 2021-2025, acceptance of applications has begun for the first year of issuing non-repayable grants for the implementation of new business ideas.

• The grant amount is up to 400 times the monthly calculation index.
• The grant for the set up and implementation of a start-up business is provided once only on a non-repayable and irrevocable basis.
• Acceptance of applications and provision of grants is performed no more than seven times during 12 consecutive months.

You can apply for the grant repeatedly within different years. The grant is provided once only.

In 2023, individuals belonging to the following category can apply and participate in the training under the "Bastau Business" project:

- unemployed;

- aspiring and active entrepreneurs;

- redundant employees who have not reached retirement age;

- persons who independently carry out activities for the production (sale) of goods, performance of works and provision of services in order to generate income without registration as an individual entrepreneur and inactive individual entrepreneurs;

- persons who independently carry out unpaid activities in family entrepreneurship;

- persons who independently carry out activities for the production of products in a personal subsidiary farm for sale (exchange), with incomes below the subsistence minimum;

- members of production cooperatives with incomes below the subsistence minimum.
