CPCR helped to return money for canceled flights

The Committee for the Protection of Consumer Rights of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan (CPCR) continues to work on returning funds to consumers for canceled flights.

In total, 409 consumers applied to CPCR, who bought 847 tickets for a total of 55.2 million tenge.

Out of 847 air tickets, 280 were bought for international flights, the rest for domestic flights.

The most popular international destinations are: Frankfurt, London, Delhi, Dubai, Antalya, Prague, Istanbul, Tehran, Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Las Vegas, Krasnodar, Moscow, Sochi, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Batumi, Tbilisi, Astrakhan, Kiev, Yekaterinburg, Dushanbe, Bishkek.

To date more than half of the consumers who applied to the CPCR have returned their funds for canceled flights. Work in this direction continues, CPCR will provide assistance to every consumer whose rights have been violated.

It will be recalled that the third lawsuit against Bek Air JSC, filed by CPCR on behalf of 108 citizens who bought 212 tickets for a total of 7.6 million tenge, is under consideration by the Turksib District Court of Almaty city. The preliminary court session was held on September 11, 2020, the next session is scheduled for September 29, 2020.

At the same time, on September 18, 2020, a hearing on the appeal of Bek Air JSC against the decision of the Turksib District Court of Almaty city dated June 17, 2020 to the first claim of the CPCR will be held in the Appellate Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases of the Almaty City Court.

Also, Bek Air JSC filed an appeal against the decision of the Turksib District Court of Almaty city on July 24 to the second claim of CPCR.
