Dear citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan!
This leaflet is intended for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan traveling abroad, and contains general rules and practical recommendations, the knowledge and observance of which will help to avoid difficulties during a trip abroad.
TRAIN PREPARATION
When traveling abroad, first of all, it is recommended to check the validity of your travel documents. Namely, make sure that the surname, first name, patronymic (including in Latin transliteration), date and place of birth, information about the children, the validity of the passport are valid in your passport (the validity of the passport should not expire less than 6 months after end of trip).
Before leaving, inform relatives and friends about your trip, location, leave contact phone numbers.
Write down the telephones of the embassies or consular offices of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the country of your upcoming stay, which are indicated on our website in the section "Representative Offices of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abroad".
When exporting from the Republic of Kazakhstan foreign currency in an amount exceeding the equivalent of three thousand US dollars, it is necessary to declare the exported amount in writing. Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan may export cash foreign currency in an amount not exceeding the equivalent of ten thousand US dollars, without providing documents confirming the origin of the exported cash foreign currency. In case of export of currency in an amount exceeding this amount, it is necessary to provide supporting documents, which may be: reference certificates of exchange points on the purchase of foreign currency; documents on withdrawal of money from a bank account in foreign currency; bank documents on receiving foreign currency on a one-time transfer; customs declaration on the amount of foreign currency previously imported into the Republic of Kazakhstan. However, do not forget to specify the amount of cash that is not subject to declaration upon entry into the country where you are going.
Ask in advance about the availability of the necessary medicines in a particular country. Often, medicines that can be easily bought in Kazakhstan are not produced abroad, or can only be bought by prescription.
In case of traveling to countries with a hot climate, vaccinations should be done in advance. Visitors to tropical countries are recommended vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus, polio. When traveling to countries in Africa (south of the Sahara) and Latin America, vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory. Pilgrims to Mecca are recommended anti-meningococcal vaccination. In cases of prolonged stay in Africa and Southeast Asia, vaccination against hepatitis B is advisable.
Before traveling abroad to study, work or for permanent residence, you should legalize or apostille your documents in advance. First of all, this applies to documents on education, certificates issued by registry offices, documents relating to property relations and social security issues.
It should be borne in mind that in many countries there is a ban or partial restrictions on the import of food, alcohol, and tobacco products. For example, in Muslim countries it is not allowed to import any alcoholic beverages.
It will be prudent to take care of the acquisition of a medical insurance policy for a period of stay abroad. Its presence will allow you to insure yourself against an accident during the trip and to avoid the cost of unforeseen medical expenses when an insured event occurs.
GETTING A VISA
If a visa is required to enter the territory of a foreign country, we recommend that you apply in advance (for 1-2 months) to the diplomatic mission or consular post of the corresponding state in Kazakhstan in person or through a well-established travel agency. A list of countries is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for entry into which citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan do not need a visa, depending on the type of passport and the duration of the planned trip.
Keep in mind that the visa processing period at some embassies of foreign countries sometimes takes a long time, especially during a period of increasing tourist flow abroad. At the same time, each embassy establishes at its discretion the procedure for issuing a visa, including an interview with the consul, the cost of a visa and a list of documents required to obtain a visa.
Strict compliance with the requirements of the embassies of foreign countries for documents for obtaining a visa (photo size, correct and readable application form, payment of consular fees, etc.) will contribute to a positive and timely consideration of your visa application.
You should not pay for the trip before you get a visa. Keep in mind that foreign embassies are not responsible for financial losses that you may incur in case of refusal or delay in issuing a visa.
You should also not rely on the fact that the purchased ticket with fixed dates will help you get a visa urgently. Although some embassies establish such a requirement.
If you are transit to the country of destination through the territory of other states, then consult in advance about the need to obtain transit visas, including their validity and multiplicity for a successful border crossing.
Having received a visa from a foreign country, check the correctness of the data indicated in it: your passport number, first and last name, date of birth, category, frequency and duration of the visa, the total number of days during which a stay in a foreign country is allowed. Remember that mistakes made in a visa not through your fault can have undesirable consequences - both at the entrance and while you are in a foreign country.
Below are the features of the visa rules of the most visited countries by Kazakhstani citizens.
