State registration of death abroad

For the registration of the death of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the following documents must be submitted to the foreign mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

1. Cover letter (download);
2. Medical certificate of death;
3. Passport and other IDs of the deceased citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, (in the absence of the IDs of the deceased, a written explanation should be submitted additionally);
4. A court decision that has entered into legal force to establish the fact of death or to declare a person dead, in the case of registration based on a court decision;
5. Military Card of the deceased (if applicable);
6. Document confirming the affinity to the deceased.

Death certificate is issued within 3 working days from the date of receiving all proper documents.
