State registration of the birth of a child abroad

Registration of birth of a child by Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Japan must be done within two months from the moment of birth of the child, and in the case of the birth of a dead child - no later than five days from the moment of birth.

To register the birth of a child and obtain a Birth Certificate of the Republic of Kazakhstan it is necessary to provide the following documents:

1. Application (download);
2. Copies of parents' passports (original for verification);
3. Copy of the Marriage Certificate of the parents (the original for verification);
4. Medical certificate of birth or a copy of the court decision establishing the fact of the birth of a child;
5. Consular fee 25USD;

In case of violation of the term of registration of the birth of a child, the following shall be submitted additionally:

- written explanation from the parents, (in arbitrary form);

- certificate of the absence of the birth record of the Registration Authority of the host country;

- certificate of child's health.

A birth certificate is issued within 5 working days from the date of receiving all proper documents.
