In 2026, the Republic of Kazakhstan will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of its Independence. The Declaration of State Sovereignty adopted on October 25, 1990, by the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR proclaimed the supremacy of national laws, the people's right to self-determination and ownership of natural resources, and defined strategic guidelines for the country's political and socioeconomic development. This historic document became a solid foundation for the subsequent declaration of Independence on December 16, 1991.
