Information on the resumption of the unilateral visa-free regime
Dear citizens,
On February 7, 2022, changes were made to the Procedure for crossing the state border of Kazakhstan, which is applied during the quarantine period. In particular, citizens of countries with a visa-free regime (57 states), including Bulgaria, are allowed to enter/transit to/ through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan through international airports.
Thus, Bulgarian citizens can enter Kazakhstan for up to 30 days without additional permits and visas.

Visa-free regime
In pursuance of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Astana International Financial Center", the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan issued the Decree #838 dated December 23, 2016, which grants visa-free regime for the citizens of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Denmark, New Zeland, Israel, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, UK, Finland, France, Croatia, Czechia, Chile, Sweden, USA, Switzerland, UAE, Estonia, and Japan.
In this regard, from January 1, 2017, the citizens of the mentioned states can enter, leave and fly through Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 30 calendar days from the moment of crossing the state border.
In case of reasonable necessity, business travelers can extend or issue a new single business visa for another 30 days in Kazakhstan through migration police offices.
Simplified procedure of applying for a visa
Citizens of the following states do not need Visa Support letters registered in Kazakhstan authorities to apply for single entry visas of the categories A3 (service), B1, B3 (business), B10 (private) and B12 (tourist) for up to 30 days: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Denmark, New Zeland, Israel, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, South Korea, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, UK, Finland, France, Croatia, Czechia, Chile, Sweden, USA, Switzerland, UAE, Qatar, Estonia, and Japan.
Consular Section may demand additional documents from the applicants.
Trip purpose: Diplomatic (A1) and Service (A3)
1.Passport and copy of the passport (should be valid, not less than 3 months after visa expires and should contain not less than 2 free pages)
2.Completed and signed visa application form with 1 actual colored photo (3,5x4,5 cm)
3.Verbal note or invitation letter with a visa request including name and surname of the applicant, his title, period of stay in Kazakhstan and trip purpose.
Trip purpose: Diplomatic (A2) and Service (A4)
1.Passport and copy of the passport (should be valid, not less than 3 months after visa expires and should contain not less than 2 free pages)
2.Completed and signed visa application form with 1 actual colored photo (3,5x4,5 cm)
3.Verbal note or invitation letter with a visa request including name and surname of the applicant, his title, period of stay in Kazakhstan and trip purpose.
4.A copy of the invitation letter from Kazakhstan with Visa Support number of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
Trip purpose: Investor (А5)
1.Passport and copy of the passport (should be valid, not less than 3 months after visa expires and should contain not less than 2 free pages)
2. Completed and signed visa application form with 1 actual colored photo (3,5x4,5 cm). In case of entry to Kazakhstan by auto transport, the car model and registration plates number should be reflected in the application form.
3.A copy of the invitation letter from the relevant investment state body of Kazakhstan with Visa Support number of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
4.The consular fee is not charged.
Trip purpose:
Business (В1)
single entry – until 90 days with a right to stay in Kazakhstan until 60 days, multiple entries — until 1 year with a right to stay in Kazakhstan until 60 days at each entry;
Business (В2)
single entry – until 90 days with a right to stay in Kazakhstan until 30 days, multiple entries — until 180 days with a right to stay in Kazakhstan until 60 days at each entry;
Business (В3)
Single entry – until 90 days with a right to stay in Kazakhstan until 30 days, multiple entries — until 1 year with a right to stay in Kazakhstan until 60 days at each entry;

Trip purpose: Private (С10) (Multiple entries – until 3 years for the whole period). Issued to ethnic Kazakhs by virtue of the proving documents (birth certificate, etc.)

2. Completed and signed visa application form with 1 actual colored photo (3,5x4,5 cm). In case of entry to Kazakhstan by auto transport, the car model and registration plates number should be reflected in the application form.
3. Personal letter of request addressed to Consul in free form.

Trip purpose: Tourist (В12)
Single entry – until 90 days with a right to stay in Kazakhstan 30 days at each entry,
Multiple entries – until 90 days with a right to stay in Kazakhstan 30 days at each entry;

Single entry – until 90 days with a right to stay in Kazakhstan 5 days in one direction;
Multiple entries – until 180 days with a right to stay in Kazakhstan 5 days in one direction.

4.The copy of the first passport page with applicant's data, copy of the valid visa to the third state, copies of traveling and other documents that give permission to enter the destination point.
