Marriage registration

Registration of marriage is made after a month from the date of filing the application. A physical presence of the both applicants is required. For marriage registration, you must provide the following documents:

1. Cover letter;
2. Originals and copies of the applicants' passports;
3. Certificates of the marital legal capacity, issued by authorized institutions;
4. Consular fee in the form of a money order for the amount of 35USD.

If it is necessary to reduce or extend the registration period of marriage, established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a document confirming the grounds for shortening or extending the term should be submitted additionally: medical certificate of pregnancy, health certificate, documents confirming other special circumstances.

In case, persons who have not reached the age of marriage want to apply for a marriage registration, the consent of the legal representatives of the persons entering into marriage is additionally submitted.

Documents issued by a competent authority of a foreign state, are accepted only after being legalized (see section "Legalization of documents").
