- Application (download);
- Copy of the applicant’s identity document bearing a photograph, together with the original for verification;
- Questionnaire (download);
- Copy of the document being requested (if available);
- Original proof of payment of the consular fee in the amount of USD 30 (Procedure for Payment of Consular Fees).
If the requested document is to be issued with an apostille, an additional consular fee of USD 35 is payable. The consular fees for the retrieval of the document and its apostille may be paid in a single payment totaling USD 65.
IMPORTANT! Retrieval of Documents with an Apostille
For a document issued in the Republic of Kazakhstan to be used in Canada, it must be apostilled.
An apostille certifies the authenticity of an official document and allows it to be used in Canada.
If the requested document is intended for submission to Canadian government authorities, educational institutions, banks, or other organizations, applicants are advised to apply for an apostille at the same time as they submit their request for retrieval of the document.
In this case, the document will be retrieved from the Republic of Kazakhstan and issued to the applicant with an apostille affixed.
When requesting a document with an apostille, the following documents must be submitted in addition to the main set of documents required for the retrieval request:
- Application for an apostille (download);
- Original proof of payment of the consular fee in the amount of USD 35 (Procedure for Payment of Consular Fees).
The consular fees for the retrieval of the document and its apostille may be paid in a single payment totaling USD 65.
Processing Time
Processing time: up to 4 months from the date of submission of a complete set of documents.
If additional verification by the competent government authorities or organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan is required, or if the transmission of documents by mail requires additional time, the processing period may be extended by no more than 30 calendar days. The applicant will be notified accordingly.
When an application is submitted through a diplomatic mission or consular office of the Republic of Kazakhstan abroad, expedited processing of document retrieval requests is not available. The established processing times apply equally to all applicants.
ATTENTION! The following documents cannot be retrieved:
- military service cards and certificates of registration for military service;
- official service identification cards;
- marriage certificates where the marriage was subsequently dissolved. In such cases, the relevant certificate confirming the marriage record is issued instead;
- birth certificates of deceased persons.
